I don’t personally find this to be the case, though I can imagine this may be an issue with the smaller monitors in the range which don’t have quite as much low-end grunt. Available in black and white, the sleek, simple look of the approximately 10kg speaker is to anyone’s liking at first sight.

The HS8 will convey exactly what’s going on with your lows, which will help you avoid overcompensating and crafting a muddy mix. They also want to be at the forefront with their audio and hi-fi products, so they do their utmost to make Yamaha products perform to the best.At realistic mixing levels, they are more than up to the job, and I’ve never felt the need to raise the level control.

They also won’t respond well to a poor mix, so if you tend to push the levels or produce an overly bright mix the HS8s will certainly convey that.Yamaha HS8 speakers feature a Low Resonance bass reflex enclosure which improves the rigidity of the overall speaker, and less cabinet resonance means that the signal remains clear and uncoloured.
