About this deal

NEVER use a dining room table or any finished surface as a work area as acetone will strip off the finish. Cover your work area with plastic or newspaper. Fabri-Tac™ is flammable only when wet and should never be used near an open flame (no smoking!) and should be used with proper ventilation. Nylon fabric is sturdy and durable, but it’s also a bit of a challenge when it comes to sewing. Beacon designed Fabri-Tac to solve this problem. It’s permanent, flexible, and dries fast. This makes it great for sewing heavy-duty fabrics like nylon and canvas together. The permanent adhesive in Fabri-Tac does not wash out with water or detergent making it excellent for things like camping gear or outdoor equipment, which is why we love it so much! You can usually apply fabric glue without doing anything special. If you use a stronger product though, you’ll want to prepare your work area. You can use old newspapers that you place on the ground to protect your floor. Those same papers can protect walls and any nearby furniture. It’s also important that you give the glue as much time as the manufacturer states to create a bond before you attempt to wash or move the item. If you use a product with strong smell or odor, you may want to open a window too. It’s also helpful to wear a mask over your nose and mouth. Tips for Cleaning Glue Spills The best way to remove Fabri-Tac™ from most fabrics is by dry cleaning. However, sometimes that is not possible. You may use the following method:

It could be that not enough Fabri-Tac™ was applied. We also recommend pre-washing your fabric before applying Fabri-Tac™. Step 1: Remove as much of the dried Fabri-Tac™ as you can by using your fingernail, a spoon or a butter knife. Step 2: Wet a small portion of the rag with acetone. Slowly rub the wet rag directly onto the adhesive to be removed. Wet and turn the rag often to keep it from drying out. If you read through the best fabric glues on the market, you probably noticed that some products were water-soluble while others were machine washable. Glues that are machine washable are safe to clean and wash in your own washing machine. The glue will not break down when exposed to water, which makes it a good choice for clothing that you wear every day and projects that you want to wash regularly such as new curtains or a seat cover. When creating a temporary bond that you’ll use in your sewing machine, you’ll want a water-soluble formula. This type of adhesive will wash away with that the addition of a little water. Choosing Glue Based on Finished Color Keep bottle covered when not in use to prevent Fabri-Tac™ from evaporating. Lose the little red tip? Cover the bottle opening with plastic wrap and replace cap.

Videos:

Fabri-Tac™ is not recommended for dry cleaning except when you wish to remove the glue from fabric. You might have to dry clean the item more than once to thoroughly remove the glue.

Step 3: The wet rag will soften and liquefy the glue. This will be a slow process. Gently peel off any blobs of glue you see and discard. We reserve the right to change the delivery service used due to weight, volume and location; however this should only typically be a service enhancement. If DPD 2 day is selected and paid for, then this option will always be used. To prevent your Fabri-Tac™ from stringing, you can rub some Vaseline around the tip of the bottle. (Please refer to the above video on how to do this.)

Sorry we're out of stock!

You can prevent bubbling by inserting a straight pin into the bottle. (Please refer to the above video on how to do this.) Some individuals may be sensitive to acetone’s smell. If you or anyone near you dislikes the smell, immediately discontinue the removal process. ALWAYS test first on a small, unseen area of the item to ensure that the acetone will not discolor or adversely affect the fabric. Acetone is a FLAMMABLE solvent and should always be kept away from heat, open flames, lighted cigarettes and other sources of ignition. DO NOT DIP THE GARMENT OR FABRIC INTO THE ACETONE! This will make the glue more difficult to remove and may permanently damage the fabric!
