About this deal

The Athena squeezes out micro-nuances that fully engage the listener, despite the mild colorations added. Once the issue has been confirmed, we will arrange for a replacement, partial refund or a full refund (where applicable). In general, upon receiving your parcel, please confirm the contents of the package and ensure that the package is in good condition before signing for it.

Moving into the treble regions, there is much more presence than in the 1kHz to 4kHz range which is an attempt to bring some more air and clarity to the overall sound. But I have always wanted to hear another track with Athena as much as I did with the stable references. Its build is solid although there aren’t as many metal parts as HarmonicDyne’s prior products (which are all more expensive). questa Athena mi ricorda molto da vicino l'esperienza acquisita con una Sennehiser HD 660 S Mark 2 trovo delle analogie, delle similitudini fra le due. These are the first HarmonicDyne headphones I have tried but I am always looking out for a decent closed back set and if they are budget orientated, even better.Music such as Sirenia sounds ethereal, clean and has a good amount of impact, although once again, it sounds best at medium and low volumes.

From signal to vibration to the lovely melody you enjoy, Athena is skillful in this conversion with utmost efficiency, all thanks to the ultra-fine voice coil and flux magnetic driver system.Nonetheless, it’s interesting to see that V-response can benefit my listening pleasure as long as it is carefully tuned. Finally, although I don’t give much credit to distortion measurements unless taken in well-designed isolation chambers, I found Athena’s harmonics are relatively well controlled across the entire spectrum. They feature a closed-back design which means when you put these on, it shuts out the rest of the world. Extending the V-shaped signature, HarmonicDyne Athena's treble is clearly lifted yet avoids harshness surprisingly well.

However, the reality that the upper-mids and lower treble are so subdued results in an uneven transition from mids to treble. It is not the first coin I have received with an audio product lately but it is a interesting way of providing the serial number. If you're in the market for a new set of headphones, the HarmonicDyne Athena headphones are definitely worth considering.

There’s no particular coloration in the midrange, like a specific dip or peak, Athena having a very clean sound that has a good timbre. We are looking at a 34 OHM impedance, with a sensitivity of 107dB, which makes Athena one of the easiest to drive full sized headphones on paper, so exactly what I mean when I say that dongles like iFi Go Link can drive both IEMs and easy to drive headphones, Athena is one of those. Thanks to this lighter, thinner, and tougher diaphragm, listeners can now enjoy their music with greater dynamic range and lower distortion. It's closer to my Fostex/Emu TH600 series headphone, which is warmly tuned with also a large 50mm driver. However, treble-sensitive listeners may still occasionally encounter highlighted tracks that cross thresholds, especially in the lower presence range around 6–8 kHz.
