About this deal

Paganism is often about the celebration of nature and life, honouring the earth and other creatures. Litha, the summer solstice, is all about the power and energy of the sun, and Lammas, or Lughnasadh, is a time for prayers honoring the early grain harvest and the Celtic god Lugh. Written by her mother, it is a wonderful and inspirational message that I would love to share to you.

It may consist of informal prayer or meditation, or of formal, structured rituals through which the participants affirm their deep spiritual connection with nature, honour their Gods and Goddesses, and celebrate the seasonal festivals of the turning year and the rites of passage of human life. These collections, though imperfect, seek to illustrate a pathway to organized, prepared prayer to the gods in a manner that honors the proud tradition of prayer in historical paganism. Whether it's our health, the food on our table, or even material blessings, this is the perfect season to celebrate the abundance in our lives. It is often conflated with witchcraft, though not all Pagans consider themselves witches, nor do all witches consider themselves Pagan.

When the sun first rises on Yule, on or around December 21 (or June 21 if you're below the equator), it's time to recognize that the days will gradually begin to lengthen. Finally, undertaking the reflective task of writing your own prepared prayers can help you delve deep into the mythology of your deities and reach deeper levels of understanding of their stories and symbols. It invokes the protection of the Divinity/God/Goddess and their Spirit over a person, a place, or a thing. Since Pagans do not have temples in the way that other religions do, most ceremonies take place outside. Not all pagan religions and traditions have the kind of spiritual authority that one would expect to preside over a funeral, but some do.
