I had attempted by connecting the RX-TX cables in both ways (cross: RX to TX and vice versa, or ther direct, RX-RX and TX-TX). All automations you define in ESPHome are executed on the ESP itself and will continue to work even if the WiFi network is down or the MQTT server is not reachable. After setting-up the Cayenne Dashboard, we must test the PZEM-004T V3 meter before interfacing with the dashboard. The Riemann calculated numbers go down sometimes, but I guess this is due to the negative W’s above.

I am trying to connect a PZEM004T (without display) to a USB port on my PC via a USB-TTL adapter board. please note I’m new to HA but since my first successful test was with PZEM I try to share my experience. Note: 14 in the sending command is the alarm value (14 is a hexadecimal data representation, which converted to decimal is 20).
