From murder to theft to drug gangs, crime and criminal justice affect the lives of millions of people worldwide.

The book itself is well written and on point, a good choice for starting studying Criminology (at least for me).

It is enough for current purposes that we are alerted to this issue and that we bear it in mind as we cover some of the terrain that comes under the heading criminology.
