The HDD/SSD trays are robust and offer security for your drives, while a new, more open design ensures better air circulation. Room for up to a 420 mm radiator in the top, 360 mm in the front, and 280 mm in the base – making it the perfect platform for building your dream water loop. The front panel + filter perhaps changes airflow for the intake somewhat, and anything above 850RPM produces whines, plus the usual humming at high RPM for most fans. This temperature drop is to be expected with all the noise damping and baffles in the way of airflow.
Thermal benchmarking is conducted for 1400 seconds (23 minutes), a period we've determined sufficient for achieving equilibrium. i too am annoyed by the multitude of glass side cases with no option for solid (or, especially, sound dampening) panels.As far as the PS shroud, it has plenty of ventilation, and can also draw in air from the open end at the front area of the case. We never bothered to review Fractal’s popular Define R5--by the time we got a chance, it was already old news. Prior to load testing, we collect idle temperature results for ten minutes to determine the unloaded cooling performance of a case's fans and air channels. Building part was surprisingly dificult as iv’e went from nzxt swith 810 full tower case to this mid size one, on the nzxt was much easy to work with and plenty of space to play, my problems was that i couldn’t fit my nzxt kraken x62 on top of the case having the metal shroud with fractal design logo, so i had to change the setup and move the intake fans on top and the cooler in front of the case pulling air and i was a bit anoyed becouse of that, you can do allot of things with this case, plenty options for setups, logo shroud can be moved in the back, side door can be moved from left to right opening just with twoo screws, top panel you have the option to go for silent or air flow by separate the panel witch is a bit hard do not pull hard as you can bend it from the middle where is a bit thin in that area put a flat screw driver on the gaps and separate them, Overal the fractal design r6 is a good quality case with some dificulties when building inaide compared to my old but still awesome case nzxt 810 switch.

This teaches us that the Define R6 primarily starts struggling with GPU thermals when both the CPU and GPU are under load, as it doesn’t have enough pathways for hot air to escape the enclosure. Load testing is conducted using Prime95 LFFTs and Kombustor “FurMark” stress testing simultaneously. Testing is completely automated using in-house scripting, and executes with perfect accuracy on every run. Along with the Modular Storage Plate, the Define R6 offers an amazingly modular interior that includes six universal SSD/HDD trays that can be independently repositioned to suit your components, cooling and cable routing layout. As you can see from the photos I managed to fit the additional 2 drive cage between main hard drive compartment and the power supply.
This will reduce airflow from the bottom intake fans somewhat; though I do not imagine it would be too significant. Anyway I think with only one fan running, the air dissipates too much and nothing substantial reached the back. The top panel consists of an outer panel with a noice dampening layer attached (screw-less) to a removable fan filter.
