But not everyone is going to love this style of art as a service. Try it now with your current monitor or TV and you’ll see exactly what we’re talking about: Light streaming in from a window or beaming across the room from a lamp reflects in an obvious way. This isn’t so much of an issue when the display is on, certainly not something you’ll be distracted by when watching moving images. But in a static image, it can become especially noticeable. A few of these works are famous enough for non-aficionados to recognize, such as Ballet Rehearsal on Stage (Degas), or Monet’s Garden at Sainte-Adress or especially Water Lilies. But the other seven in the Classic sub-collection are less well known, despite being attached to Big Names (Gauguin, Klimt, Munch). And the other sub-collections range from unfamiliar and uninspiring photographs to patterns and renderings that look more like Pointillistic interpretations of Windows wallpaper to curious, animated cinemagraphs and things resembling YouTube drone videos.
The absence of 4K resolution is not perceived to be a big miss: Unless you are sitting very close to the TV screen, you should be good at distinguishing differences. The 32 “large screen has a pixel density of approximately 68 PPI, which is equivalent to a 65″ 4K screen, and is more than good enough for normal viewing distances of 1-2 meters.By contrast, the new model has exactly no reflection. And it shouldn’t, should it? The Frame is meant to act like a painting on a wall, and there’s no reason to think light would dance off the surface of a canvas or print as it does off of glass, right? Add in the television’s ability to optimize white balance and brightness for the environment and the pixels vanish, leaving you with… well, artwork on your wall. For The Frame series, the matte finish is a big step forward, one that brings the TV a little closer to the rest of the Samsung 2022 TV lineup in terms of performance. We also said that "The picture comes across best with darker scenes and moodier palettes, more in keeping with the pensive gallery atmosphere of contemplating the paintings in the TV’s Art Store." While we didn’t have an opportunity to thoroughly dig in with the company’s Tizen Smart TV interface, it has a fairly busy look, though a mid-screen horizontal app strip can be populated with favorites for easy browsing using Samsung’s remote control. About that: Samsung has made great strides in simplifying its remote controls to make them more user-friendly for the average viewer. But the downside here is that someone looking to make regular picture adjustments – a TV reviewer, for example – needs to dig 10 button-presses deep through the set’s menu system to make even minor brightness or contrast tweaks. Performance That makes for a huge amount of variety, meaning The Frame TV is a television that can be catered to your specific living situation. Want a massive screen to put the fear of god into your children? Or a teeny, cutsey display that can fit on a shelf or be easily tidied away? The Frame TV can do it all.
The Samsung monitor uses a separate junction box (One Connect), which carries power and video signals up to the TV through a common cable. The purpose is to reduce cable clutter, but we scratch our heads a bit over the solution they have chosen on the 32″ model. Update 11/27/2020: We've retested the VRR with an HDMI 2.1 source and the latest firmware (version 1403). that violates any law, statute, ordinance or regulation (including, but not limited to, those governing export control, consumer protection, unfair competition, anti-discrimination or false advertising);With that said, we think the 32-inch provides an excellent picture experience according to the conditions. The big selling point of The Frame is its art integration, which is accessible via a menu option from the home screen. You can scroll through the default options, which are organized into categories such as Featured, Global Top 20, Etsy, and more.

So if style is important to you, this is a solid choice. Of course, we’ll have to wait until we get all these TVs in for testing before we can say anything for certain – but, as it stands, The Frame (2022) looks like a strong contender against the rest of the lineup and stands heads and shoulders above its predecessor.Samsung’s Frame TV sets have always impressed from a design standpoint, but have sometimes struggled when it comes to the actual picture department.
