About this deal

Examine the tip of the cable – where you just removed the connector – for signs of damage, such as corrosion. Damaged cables can't carry signals effectively; if in doubt, replace them. You can find cables at most electrical retailers. Aerial cables Dante, your diagram is really helpful in helping me visualise the install. I've made a couple of changes to illustrate my question, see attached. Is this set up possible? The difference is that BT are having to push out FTTC and more rarely FTTH as they have reached the maximum usable bandwidth that twisted pair cable can provide over long distances (100's meters - a few kilometres). This one will annoy you if you’re not very skilled at attaching wires. The cable is designed for “no-tool” installation.

This 25-foot cable may link gadgets from one end of your house to the other. Despite the fact that this is a longer connection, the transferring quality is consistent throughout. This cable has a constant resistance of 75 ohm.

The decibel level of this coax cable is measured. The higher this grade, the greater the quality of the coax cable. A higher shield or grain cable will transport data more efficiently and fast.

Problem here is the run of cables have been replaced/moved, and any fixed attenuation may not now apply. Adjustable may be the answer. Currently Virgin (and other cable providers) haven't reached that same point with the coax cable, they're currently able to provide 152mbps (that figure was chosen as it is double BT's current top fibre speed of 76mbps) and will be upgrading to 200mbps in the near future however they are already trialling speeds well in excess of that using the same coax cable and improvements in the Docsis 3.1 standard. Later additions to the VM network use fibre optic to a wall box outside and a media converter which changes the fibre to coax wiring inside to the VM hub.

However, this seems like a great service, and it is. The cables are likely to be clipped to skirting boards, and even if the colour is close, they can still be unsightly. Does Virgin multiroom need cables? If the technician cannot do this for you, ask the technicians to leave enough cable and clips for you to make the installation yourself. How do Virgin Media run a cable to the house? The exterior is also UV and water resistant. This quad shielding is what makes this so appealing to the masses.
