About this deal

Then he took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones from the brook and put them in his shepherd’s pouch. His sling was in his hand, and he approached the Philistine. And he taketh his staff in his hand, and chooseth for him five smooth stones from the brook, and putteth them in the shepherds' habiliments that he hath, even in the scrip, and his sling is in his hand, and he draweth nigh unto the Philistine. The Canon 17-40mm f/4L has been around for a while now but it is still worth considering for many photographers. There are better lenses out there but this is no slouch and given the incredible value now offered by this lens it is well worth another look. Shots like this are the reason to own a 17mm: ultrawides exaggerate depth and make spaces look much larger than they are. Some of the verticals aren't perpendicular to the sides of the image because I hand-held the shot and didn't have the camera level. These lines aren't curved, they're merely crooked because that's how I held the camera. The17-40mm f/4 and 16-35mm f/2.8 work great on the 1.6x sensor cameras ( Rebel, 30D, 20D), but for those cameras the 18-55mm EF-S lens, for one sixth the price, is lighter and more agile. None of these is wide on a 1.6x camera. Even this 17-40mm on a 1.6x camera only covers a range similar to what a 27-65mm lens would on a 35mm film camera. For these 1.6x cameras, you have an easy choice: get the 10-22mm EF-S, which covers the same range on those cameras as a 16-35mm lens covers on full-frame cameras.

There are even fewer issues on smaller sensor cameras. I doubt you'll ever have any problems, and if you're afraid you might, just look at your LCD. He took his staff in his hand, and chose for himself five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in the shepherd's bag which he had, even in his wallet. His sling was in his hand; and he drew near to the Philistine. I know it has high levels of distortion and corner performance isn't great, but for landscapes stopped down to say f8/11 would it be good enough? The common 77mm filter threads make sharing filters with many of Canon's complementing lenses easy. The scale on the left side is an indication of actual image resolution. The taller the column, the better the lens performance. Simple. If you want to practice, grab yourself a pen, a pad, and a calculator and try to convert a few fractions to a percentage yourself.

I am looking the light body lens combo for my travels (motorcycle enduro and dual sports riding). My experiences with the G1Xm2 was ok, but I still want to have a small SLR with me. And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.

The 17-40mm f/4 L is a better, lighter and newer lens than the fatter and more expensive 16-35mm. (I still look forward to trying the even more expensive and heavier 16-35mm f/2.8 L II.) This is swell performance. It's almost impossible to contrive a subject like this with in-focus details in the farthest corners, and even then anyone shooting in broad daylight on a tripod at f/4 like this is an idiot. To put this idiotic abuse in perspective, here's the full shot at f/4:

Hot Extra 5% - 10% Savings Payboo Deal at B&H ends Tomorrow – Canon EOS R5, R3, and Many Other Items Included! I usually get perfect autofocus. It's unusual to get a miss, although it will happen. It is much better than the 16-35mm L I tried. It does almost nothing for lens protection - and nearly nothing for image quality when used on a 1.6x FOVCF body. If the 50mm is not the f1.8 STM version then sell it, but if it is the STM version I would definitely keep it.If you do not need full-frame compatibility, rugged build quality or environmental sealing, the newer

You may need to remove the barrel distortion from 17mm shots during post-processing if straight lines are present near the edges of the frame. I've seen a lot of students get confused whenever a question comes up about converting a fraction to a percentage, but if you follow the steps laid out here it should be simple. That said, you may still need a calculator for more complicated fractions (and you can always use our calculator in the form below). Most DSLR photographers are looking to upgrade to a full frame camera at some point in their photography journey. If you owned this lens at the point of upgrade it would then turn into very good landscape lens. The lens works on both cropped and full framed cameras. I have now used this lens as my main landscape lens for many years and it is very well suited to that purpose. What I would do to get something more usable at a comparatively low price is to get a used or Canon "refurbished" EF 16-35 f/4.0 which is far superior to the 17-40 in every way and holds up on the R5 very well. This is my experience having had the 17-40 and two generations of the EF 16-35 f/2.8. I kept my EF 16-35 f/4.0 when I transitioned to the R system, and even after trying the new 15-35 f/2.8, have no desire to trade away my 16-35 f/4.0. It works great for my needs with the adapter and is working very well with the 45 MP of the R5. Read the rest of this review if you like, or stop here and know that I bought a Canon 17-40mm f/4 L for myself after having it and the more expensive Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L on loan for a month. Bokeh is OK in the center, but sloppy in the corners. it's better at the large apertures, and looks worst in the corners stopped down a bit. As an aspherical optic, it will do weird things.
