About this deal

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN A MYSTERY: Solve gripping crimes and mysteries in this thrilling board game that blends detective work with cutting-edge technology. In Chronicles of Crime 1400, players take on the role of Abelard Lavel, a knight with visionary powers in medieval Paris. Each mission starts with Abelard having a vision and players drawing specific vision cards to illustrate the dream. These cards aren’t used in the game but can give clues to help solve the crime. I love the app on my phone as a tool. The QR code scanning is such an innovative piece to the game, plus all the additional scenarios you can buy.

The latter two aspects are a subtle difference from the mechanics in other games in the series, but they have a huge impact on how one as a player interacts with the game. That being said, the scenarios are well designed and sometimes challenging. There are a lot of clues to be uncovered and some missions will keep gamers hunting for hours. If you are looking for something new and unique in the investigative genre, Chronicles of Crime is worth a look. Was mir sehr gut gefallen hat war, dass wir sofort losspielen konnten. Keine komplizierte Anleitung, sondern das Spiel erklärt sich von selbst.

Chronicles of Crime is a great game and experience, one that is easy to play and rewards logical thinking. The game comes with plenty of cases and the promise of more through digital content. It is quite unlike most other games, the closest it resembles is the popular escape room games, but it is more than that. For those budding armchair detectives in your life this is a fantastic choice. I’ve found that the technology aspect of Chronicles of Crime works quite well. We had no issues using the app to drive the game, and learning to use it was pretty intuitive. However, the VR crime scene was easily my favorite thing about the game. I loved standing up and panning around the scene trying to find anything that might be relevant to our investigation. We had some lively debates about what might be actual evidence and what was just a red herring (or simple window dressing).

The are ‘evidence cards’ which you will discover as you go along. These are split into a smaller pile of unique or special clues, and then some general evidence cards, 55 character cards, four police advisers and a sent of envelope sized location mats.Chronicles of Crime 1900 follows the same format as its predecessor. Using an app, you scan a combination of locations, witnesses/suspects, clues/evidence and puzzle cards. Playing The Game When you think you have all the pieces of information necessary to solve the case, you press “Solve the Case” in the app and answer a series of questions. By the end, the app tells you if you were correct or not, and gives you a written summary of the full course of events. Play Experience
