About this deal

The suggestion was to deep discharge the fooked unit by attaching a car headlamp to it and let it run down. A USB port on a bike will be for charging items such as mobile phones, and will be for output only. The Oximiser will come with a battery connectionlead. The measurements are approximately 34 inches from the plug to charger, the lead from the charger to the connector is around 37 inches, and there is around 12 inches length on the battery connection lead. There is no difference between this and the AnniversaryEdition. Charging mode gives a strong charge until the battery reaches 85% and then reduces the current until fully charged And this one from CTEK is superbly clever. Not only does it do everything you'd expect: charging, recovering, conditioning and maintaining whatever vehicle battery you connect it to (and yes, it does them all, from Lead Acid to Lithium-ion in all wet, AGM, Gel and other forms) – it does it without any programming from you.

Oximiser 900 can be left permanently connected to provide guaranteed long term battery care. Suitable for all 12V ... Automatically applies an appropriate charge if voltage drops outside acceptable limits to ensure the battery voltage and condition remains perfect

About

The Oximiser 3X is Oxford's most versatile, most powerful, multi-purpose maintenance product. It offers not one, but THREE automated charging programs for differing battery sizes - perfect for bikes, cars and even leisure batteries! So, if you have multiple toys in your garage, it's the only battery optimiser you are ever likely to need. There are several chargers from CTEK in this list, and this CS ONE option is the top dog of the range. It's a smart charger that can repair, maintain, charge and detect bad cells, as well as a host of other features. Please do not operate the charger in a closed area or restrict ventilation in any way. During charging, the battery must be placed in a well-ventilated area. Also, do not expose the charger to the elements, it is for indoor operating useonly. I tried what you suggested Matt, didn't seem to make any difference. Doesn't deliver any current to the discharged battery at all. The charger works fine on the other battery though, but the resting voltage of mine is about 10.1v, surely that's chargeable? Tempted to jump out to tesco and grab a cheapo charger and see if it works. I can't even use the other battery from the ZX7R in the 10R as its far too big.

The only Oximiser that Oxford list that is suitable for lithium LifePO4 batteries is the 3X, and so we would not recommend using the Oximiser900. The other important point to consider is, depending on the brand, age, condition, and number of 'life cycles' for the offending battery it may be BER (Beyond Economical Repair). The problem I suspect with this method is that I have tried and failed to charge a flatted battery using a Brand New optimate. The optimiser was never any use after this. Aprilia RS125 - Kawasaki ZXR400 - Triumph Street Triple R - Suzuki GSXR1000 L3 - BMW R1200GS - Kawasaki Z1000 - Kawasaki ZX10R C1H - Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Touring - Suzuki HayabusaI don't really want to try push some juice into it with the other battery, as I don't fancy trying to bump start the ZX7R at 8am tomorrow in case of failure/battery death. Charge the unit, and then take it on tour. Once charged, it'll hold its power for a year and will recover a dead bike battery enough to start your engine in around 15 minutes. The charge is delivered to your battery progressively, too – reducing the risk of jump-start damage. It's absolutely superb and really works. Yes, it's a pricey solution, but it works brilliantly and is invaluable if you're off the grid where your bike lives.
