Murphy-Hiscock's wealth of knowledge on herbs and their properties enriched my understanding of their magical and medicinal uses. It's just your typical 20th century Neo-Wiccan nonsense- complete with your fairly typical Silver Ravenwolf-esque rhetoric of the era, and only a thin veneer of Hedgecraft (even then, that veneer is so thin it might as well not exist). I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic!Also there are several sweeping statements such as ‘Like all men…’ and ‘Like all young people…’ that I feel stereotype people based on gender, age and sexuality. She includes several personal stories throughout to give her readers an idea of what to expect, which I love.

This book has worked for many and while I think that's great, I would be careful if you are interested in this book. The book consists of letters, written by Rae Beth to two people who are interested in witchcraft in the 80's. When I saw she had another book coming out titled The Path of the Hedge Witch, I knew I had to get my hands on it.

There have definitely been titles published in the 30yrs since this that would be more valuable on that topic, but it was interesting for the time capsule it provides.
