The set has enough supplements to warrant a purchase and delivers the goods on every level, not to mention that the video has been improved (I’d not thought it possible) from the Blu-ray which is also included. Similar to the Blu-ray, the film is presented as it was shown in IMAX auditoriums with the aspect ratio alternating between 2.The highlight of the bunch has to be the meaty near hour-long Documentary with Matthew McConaughey hosting which looks at The Science of Interstellar in great depth, detailing the scientific theories that under-pin much of the plot, with specific emphasis on scientific adviser and executive producer Kip Thorne's work on wormholes and black holes. And despite all of this ambitious scale, Interstellar is also Nolan's most emotional voyage, using it as a tether to help understand the scientific concepts and costs. The yellow ring circling Gargantua dazzles and illuminates the 2160p video with sumptuous brilliance and energy while showing light rays of fiery orange in the outer areas. After seeing Dune 2021 and others on my home system with the IMAX ratio footage, I can only imagine how amazing Interstellar would look if they released that version.

The platitudes begin to wear thin right when the movie gets exciting, so it's easy to forget about the labored insistence of the screenplay to throw down eternally true witticisms. However, my observations on the audio and video presentations of this Interstellar 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release are all new.Rest assured this isn’t going to be easy for me, but I’m going to try to be as brutally honest and as objective as I can throughout here. That’s all I can really ask for here is for you to have an open-mind, not closed like mine was unfortunately the first time I saw Interstellar. Perhaps working with Van Hoytema made a difference because Nolan's 35mm footage here already looks tremendous - arguably better than on any previous film he'd done. Better yet, I’m pretty sure the movie was Ace Frehley’s inspiration for the song “Rocket Ride” back in 1977 on KISS’ Alive II album. It didn’t hurt the film with a freshly-crowned Oscar winner by the name of Matthew McConaughey in the lead role, either. Rejoice in the marvel that is Interstellar 4K and know you’re getting reference quality from head-to-toe with this 4K UHD Blu-ray product.Look no further than to the painstakingly detailed gravel roads in Calgary to the corn fields that seem to go on forever almost infinitely like the breathtaking views provided to us in outer space. It is abrupt but jarring as it provides a glimpse of the soundtrack’s dynamic range and deep, authoritative bass.
