I am glad that Eric appears to have cheered up a bit but Danny does not seem to fit into the team well, we will see. I will be on the look out for books by her that I haven't read and may even revisit ones I have read.

Recommend this series that needs read in sequence to others that like police procedural with crimes committed but not over dramatized. The addition of American soldiers to Britain’s shores is covered within the plot of Dead to Me, which I found add further character to the novel. Much to my pleasant surprise, Annie is just as well-developed as her sister, a fact that is all the more laudable given the character’s passivity and/or absence throughout the majority of the novel. Ruby through an unfortunate incident finds herself transported to Devon to the house of Wilby who takes in kids in need.Love this series with Tom and his team, always an excellent read, love the character's and team dynamics, and can't help having a soft spot for Eric, so I was thrilled with the ending as he's been like a lost puppy. The Dead to Me referred to in the title comes from a note sent from Ruby to Verity and came out of nowhere. She learned about the Soho club scene and the music business during the Sixties with the late John Pritchard.
