About this deal

We were recently invited along to meet with Quinny at The Baby Show, for a special top secret buggy review mission. We were given the new model of the Moodd to try out while we were there, and have been reviewing it for the past few weeks. So here’s what we thought (you can also read my iCandy Raspberry review, Britax Affinity review and Armadillo Flip XT review) The Moodd stroller weighs 33 Ibs (well, the cool unfold mechanism comes at a weight). For moms, you may not be able to easily throw the stroller into your trunk unless you remove the seat first and put the 2 pieces in separately. Besides looking trendy and being comfortably plush, the Quinny carrycot is also designed to protect the little ones from the wind and the Sun, and shelter their sensitive eyes from the Sun. There’s a padded apron that zips over the top, as well as an adjustable canopy with an additional pull out Sun visor. It also comes with an adjustable Sun canopy and a flip out visor to protect the baby’s sensitive eyes from the sunlight, which is especially useful when the car seat is used with the Moodd stroller frame.

Do not be surprised if you are stopped along the streets by strangers to be asked what stroller this is. The carrier also has rubber feet so that you can place it on the ground without dirtying the fabric. Hence, it can even serve as a stand-alone nap spot for your little one at home or outdoor, without being attached to the Moodd chassis. The Quinny Moodd is a stylish pushchair that offers comfort for baby and unfolds automatically at the push of a button. This 3 wheel pushchair is suitable from birth & easy to use with the Maxi-Cosi baby car seat to form a Quinny Moodd Travel system, or even a stylish pram with the Quinny Carrycot. To fold the frame, apply the brake, then move the safety catch on the right shaft of the handle to allow the release button to slide upwards. At the same time, slide the button on the left and push down on the handle. An automatic clip holds the frame shut. For reassurance that your fame will remain shut when you put it in the boot of your car, a strap from the rear axle can be attached to the handle. The 5-point harness is adjustable so that as your child grows, you can increase the length of the harness with the sliders as well as adjust the height of the shoulder harness higher (there are 3 different height settings). The only concern is that the center release button could be too easy for an older toddler to open.Although it doesn’t fare so well as an city / urban pram for reasons I’ll come on to shortly, it was great on longer walks, through parks and on uneven pavements and roads. I imagine it will be very useful in colder weather too The shoulder pads are well-cushioned to ensure comfort, but may seem a little bulky for the smaller babies. The 2015 Moodd model now has the harness padding color coded to match the rest of the stroller.

Quinny Moodd Travel System Stroll And Travel In Style With Quinny Moodd Travel System

What really differentiates the Quinny strollers from other strollers in the market is really the stylish and eye-catching looks. The brake application on the Moodd couldn't be much easier, the right pedal puts it on and is coloured red, the left pedal takes it off and is coloured grey. Definitely flip-flop friendly, though you do need to press quite firmly. For newborns, I would highly recommend using the Quinny Tukk Foldable Carrier to transform the Moodd into a safe, warm and comfy pram that allows the baby to lie totally flat. We went for a Bugaboo (the Bee+) before Eliza was born – as it’s very small and light – and it’s been brilliant. We recently bought a Maclaren Volo to take on holiday, and have used it a lot as it’s even lighter and more portable than the Bee. The bumper bar does look stylish and little boys may feel excited (role-playing driving). However, restless toddlers will not have any support to lean on the sides. As the seat is wipe-clean only, you should choose the darker-toned stroller if you are afraid of stain marks on the stroller over the years of usage. The footrest can be adjusted up and down. However, it only extends up to only 8” from the seat, which is relatively short and may not work for kids older than 2 even though the weight capacity can accommodate bigger toddlers. I’d like to have it telescope further down so that older or long-legged kids will have a more comfortable ride, without having to ride with their knees propped up or legs dangling.Postcodes applicable: HS1-9, IV40-51, IV55-56, KA27-28, KW15-17, PA20, PA41-49, PA60-78, PH42-44, ZE1-3

The Quinny Moodd is strong, stable and robust. It’s light to push and easy to steer, even one handed. The air tyres means it’s a very smooth ride I can safely conclude that this is a good Moodd. Quinny have taken one of their most popular models and brought it right up to date adding some nice touches and improving on previous weaknesses. From six months+ you can use the normal seat, which can be in both forward and parent facing modes and has three levels of recline Eliza loved being higher up, and the padded t-bar at the front. I suspect she likes to think she’s driving it

The deluxe way

This foldable carrycot offers the optimal comfort for a newborn on a stroll as it allows the newborn to travel lying flat. It can accommodate babies from birth to about 15 Ibs. The inside of the carrycot measures 29 inches by 11 inches, so it should be able to last till the baby is around 6 months old. The car seat has an adjustable stay-in-car base, and can be installed onto the car using either LATCH anchors or seat belts. It’s not the most practical pram for city use or our current circumstances, due to the weight and size. It would be great if you go on a lot of long walks in the countryside, and I do think we’ll use it more when we move house and don’t have to cope with stairs. The footrest is also not connected to the seat all the way so there will not be any flat surfaces/calf rest to support the baby’s legs before they are long enough to reach the footrest. I must say that the quality of canopy is pretty good. It is UPF 50+ and the material is bouncy and stretchable so it doesn’t go out of shape.
