If you have never set up your Chime before, it will automatically enter setup mode. Simply wait for the Ring logo on the front of your Chime to begin to pulse slowly, then press the “Continue” button in the Ring app. Note: Ring Video Doorbell 3 is not compatible with any other brand of wireless chimes or any chime/intercom system using a DC transformer. Mechanical vs digital chimes Select a specific name for your Chime to distinguish it from other Ring devices on your account. You can choose one of the default names that are suggested, or you can enter your own by selecting “Custom…” at the bottom of the list. 8. For your safety, only use an existing doorbell transformer within the ranges specified below or compatible Ring accessories to power your device. If you think you may have selected the wrong chime type, return to the Chime Settings and choose a different chime type. If you hardwired your Ring Video Doorbell to your existing doorbell system and want to still hear your old chime, you can set up an in-home chime in the Ring app if you have one of the following devices:

Plug your Chime into a standard wall outlet near your wifi router. Once it is plugged in, the Ring logo on the front of your Chime will begin pulsing blue. 7. If you have more than one wifi network, select the network closest to where you will be installing your Ring Chime.

If it doesn’t ring correctly, select one of these options: “My chime rang partially” or “My chime didn’t ring.” For Ring Video Doorbell Pro and Pro 2, configuring an in-home chime is more complicated. We recommend asking a qualified electrician, or purchasing a Ring Chime or Chime Pro. These devices plug into your mains and let you choose from 16 doorbell chime tones.
