About this deal

However I have not had it on the highest third setting since I first turned it on, and for the most part it has been on the lowest setting, setting 1, lowest that is except for the frost safety setting. They do make a sort of pleasant crackling sound of heating oil when turned on from cold if used on the highest setting (which is disconcerting at first if you aren't used to oil-filled heaters but is perfectly normal! knowing I'd be watching tv etc in the living room for entire evenings, and not wishing to have the central heating warming the entire house all evening long i decided to try an oil filled radiator.

I was quite surprised to see setting 2 being so close to the same power consumption as setting 1, but there you go. New range of Panasonic BZ, TZ and KEW wall mounted air conditioning units, some with inbuilt wi-fi technology.Hearst UK is the trading name of the National Magazine Company Ltd, 30 Panton Street, Leicester Square, London, SW1Y 4AJ. It doesn't have to be put up full and if it is on low the thermostat kicks in once the temperature drops. Bought two of these to survive a broken boiler over Christmas a few years ago, and have used one ever since under my desk in a cold office at work and one in my bedroom at home to help regulate the temperature as the room is often much cooler than the rest of the house due to the roof design.

Made to be used over longer periods of time compared with inferior radiators, the Vento uses diathermic oil to release heat gradually, while a chimney effect strongly pushes the outgoing airflow, making the air hotter and circulate around the room more. With 2 kW of heat output, the Vento is perfect for smaller rooms or for boosting existing heat sources around the home. On full this gives off a surprising amount of heat, the Ventrilo feature definitely works and if you put your hand above it, you feel an almost warm breeze. It features the "Venturi Effect", in which an internal chimney-like structure increases convective air flow. Also, I'd recommend using it with a timer switch, that way you could use an awkward wall plug up without having to fumble behind your furniture to switch it on or off. Would have preferred it to be a little longer and a bit shorter, but most makes of oil filled rads seem to be the same sizes. This took longer to heat up, but once warmed up provided more heat than my original 2kWh Argos jobby. kW of heat output, the Vento is perfect for larger rooms or for boosting existing heat sources around the home.

This convective effect increases the speed at which the room is heated, in addition to the radiant heat produced. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. All that the kWh rating dictates is how much energy can be input into heating the oil to a desired temperature. It does not stay on all the time, turning itself off once the thermostat temperature has been reached. It has three variable heat settings and an adjustable room thermostat to set and maintain the desired temperature, as well as an anti-frost function and an overheat safety protection feature. The main body of the radiator is encased in a surrounding second outer shell, creating a chimney-like space in between the two. Whilst, it does put out a decent amount of heat, even just on the 2nd of it's three heat settings, I find that it (still) gives off a strange odour, very hard to describe not burning smell as such but a noticeable odour that isn't pleasant.

I gave it 4 out of 5 because as there are no handles or anything to grip that isn't warm when it heats up, you can't really move it unless you get a towel or slide it along the floor on a mat. I read quite a few reviews before deciding upon this one; what I definitely didn't want is a radiator that pinks and creaks when its warming up and cooling down. Bought it just over a year ago but it has only had a couple of days (non continuous) use when I first got it just to test it as it was bought just in reserve in case an existing heater failed. The trick is to use them only when needed and to keep them set as low as possible to keep comfortable.
