About this deal

stationary military facilities, such as anti-aircraft missile systems, radar stations, radar installations, engineering structures, etc. The minus point of hand painting is that you will get an orange peel effect to the finish if your prep isn't good, so when you've done the primer make sure you give it a good flattening off, your looking for a mirror smooth finish before you top coat, if you dont do this the orange peel effect will be twice as bad on the final coat. We know that "The best form of advertising is the personal recommendation of a satisfied customer". Here are a few pictures of the rear quarter panel after a brief treatment, although there isn't much to see in its initially applied state: Now a word of warning, you can paint synthetic on top of celulose but NOT celulose on top of synthetic, so if you prang your van any touch up or repaint must be in synthetic paint

Unfortunately progress is slow, i am working on the van dayly for a full 5-8 hours but i feel like im making very slow progress. I'm only guessing on the volume of paint required but to paint a smallish car takes 2 litre of primer & 2 litre of top coat minimum, i know this because i've just done it to my historic motor, look at my avitar for idea of sizeTraditional Synthetic Coach Enamel– Maintaining the traditional element of a long wet edge time minimises brush marks whilst maximising its self-levelling ability for a perfectly flat, gloss finish. Our premium formula gives you superb coverage; suitable for the traditional application methods of brushing and rollering. Synthetic Coach Enamel also supports spray application for those who want product originality. Tomorrow i am refilling a couple of small areas (i shall document these), washing the van down, putting her in the gazebo and then roller-priming where necessary. Primer & Undercoat. We recommend using the closest colour primer& undercoat to your top coat. For RAF Blue Pre 1956 use light grey primer and light blue undercoat. The paint I use is military grade (all colours and finishes), thus it is very durable and has corrosion inhibitor built into it. Ever wondered why military vehicles don’t seem to have rust? will enhance the protective qualities of metal vehicle parts. Whether under stress or extreme weather conditions, our military vehicle paint can be depended on.

Summary. Indestructible Paint offers premium paint for military vehicles, adhering to military coatings standards. As leading industrial paint manufacturers, they provide solutions for various defence applications and have introduced coatings in line with the new Def Stan 80-225, ensuring chrome-free and low VOC products. Unfortunately i did not get any photos of this process as it required quite a bit of time and effort so i had to focus my attention on that. We know we are not the cheapest on the market, however the superb quality of our products is second to none. We also supply this colour in larger quantities ideal for larger repairs, we can supply your colour in the following paint typesAnd my fave panel, rollered then swept with a quality brush, 1 decent coat of rustoleum and this was the finish! Our latest Def Stan 80-225 system fulfils these needs while also answering important concerns about chrome usage. The overall result is a highly practical solution for our customers in the military sector and an excellent demonstration of the knowledge and capability of our in-house research and development team,” he concludes. As with all these things, the key is in the preparation - if you take your time to make sure you've sanded the existing paint work well to provide a key, and treated any rust, the results can be fabulous. To get the perfect finish I'd recommend having a dry roller to hand and very lightly going over the paint to press out any tiny bubbles. I've also found that the thinner the paint, the better the finish, although of course you'll need a few more coats.

Other options are generally based around coach enamal, such as that used to paint busses or high end luxury vehicles, or military paint. If you are unsure we will also advise you on the best way to apply our military vehicle paints for the best results. The use of military vehicles implies complete repainting for camouflage due to the changing seasons. Besides, high loads and frequent exposure to harmful factors sometimes require patching to maintain an appropriate appearance. Thus, high-quality military vehicle paints should be simple and easy to use, offering fast drying and overcoating times without compromising properties and performance. Paints4Trade's range of military grade vehicle paints is a collection of unique products suitable for general and specialised use, including: Upon completing the initial sanding/keying of the paint present on the van it was time for body repairs, these consisted of fibreglassing areas where rust was too severe to simply treat. In these instances i cut out/ground out the rust, cleaned up the surrounding areas, treated with rust treatment and then fibreglassed both sides of the affected panel, where possible. Well guys first of all thanks for the response! Good to hear this may be useful, i am hoping it will develop into a sort of 'how to'.

Primer & Undercoat. We recommend using the closest colour primer& undercoat to your top coat. For Nato Green use dark grey primer and green undercoat. My experience in bodywork is limited to that of a home mechanic, i have rattled canned a few motorcycles and repaired the arches on a ford escort, beyond this my experience is none existant. I have however tried to compensate for this by asking a lot of questions, and reading many guides. Basically, if i can do this, anyone can. Equally, my driver side rear panel joint was mostly smoothed out, but perhaps i should redo this - paint really does highlight imperfections even though touch smooth! This was inspired by the roller painting links above, as well as having a white 'builders van' and not much money after spending too much on a van that barely works. This meant a pro paint job was no longer on the cards.
