Please note Artie requires 4 AA batteries (not included) and a tablet or computer to connect Artie to. I inserted one of the included washable markers into the receptacle under the cover and made sure that the tip on the other end was at the correct height. To use the markers with Artie, simply lift up the flap on the head and insert the marker in the hole (a marker guide can be fitted on the underside so that the marker is in the correct position for the robot to lift the pen up and down when drawing). Thanks to inbuilt wifi it connected without any issues and we could access the Artie interface to code and draw with him. Regardless, with its coding abilities and features that would allow any interested child to explore and grow, it is well worth the relatively inexpensive cost. Understandably, a drawing robot that uses a tablet/computer to code is great fun for kids…making this a brilliant way of encouraging children to learn and enjoy coding. There are 4 modes to play with Artie; pre-programmed shapes, games, art for colouring and freeform coding. However, as my results show, there is a bit of an accuracy issue (maybe I am doing something wrong), that affects the desired outcome.
