The buildable elements of the advent calendar are a mixed bag, which is always the case with any of the LEGO Advent Calendars. It’s not the best-looking ship, although it does capture the general look of the Guardians’ Ship with its shape and unmistakeable colour scheme.

That’s 2 lacklustre builds in a row, and even Star-Lord is coping by drinking whatever is in that green bottle to not lose his holiday spirit.Unfortunately, my calendar was mixed up with the wrong pieces and sets in nearly every window of the calendar which caused me to have to build the whole thing on the first night. LEGO might consider enclosing a small instruction booklet in the future; the packages say 6+ and 7+, but some of these barebones instructions would likely trip them up. Once complete, the iconic headgear stands firmly on a baseplate, creating an eye-catching focus for the home or office. With movable arms, legs, hips and head, your Venomized Groot is always ready for action and adventure! They'll be happy with the oddball randomness of the builds, and most capture the whimsical spirit of the franchise. I was hoping to at least get all members of the guardians and a bonus if in some kind of festive version, super happy with Nebula and her sweater huge wow moment.As always, the instruction of each day’s builds are printed on the inside of the doors, so be careful and try not to rip them out! As if that wasn’t good enough, over on the back, we have Nebula and her stepsister Gamora knitted in a love heart, which is the cutest thing ever. The Hedwig build came with a dreidel, but other than that, it's all key moments from the books, and not even from the holiday portions of the books.
