About this deal

The former must be generous enough to accommodate you and your camping gear unless you’re happy with getting itchy bites on your feet. The latter must be compact enough to fit in a small carrying pouch. As well as featuring a mosquito net in both the hood and foot, the Vango Planet 50 also comes with improved anti-microbial and insect repellent treatment for 2015. Vango Shield is their new and improved protection used on the new Planet range, replacing the old HHL Vital protection from the previous model. Vango Shield is proven to reduce the growth of bacteria which causes odours and mould from developing on your sleeping bag, and this is also included on the net as well as the sleeping bag’s fabrics. It also acts as an insect repellent to deter insects from landing on the sleeping bag.

Ng'ang'a, PN, Okoyo, C, Mbogo, C, Mutero, CM. Evaluating effectiveness of screening house eaves as a potential intervention for reducing indoor vector densities and malaria prevalence in Nyabondo, western Kenya. Malar J. 2020;19 (1):341. doi: 10.1186/s12936-020-03413-3. PubMed PMID:32950061 PubMed Central PMC7501660. Another addition Vango have made on the 2015 Planet 50 is the mosquito net in the foot area of the bag…this probably seems like a strange feature to include, but it’s pretty useful when you think about it. This allows you to unzip the bottom of the bag in warm climates and allow air in, without you having to worry about insects biting your feet and legs, or crawling inside your sleeping bag. The sleeping bag has a full length zip which also runs along the bottom of the sleeping bag, so you can easily open the sleeping bag out and use it as a blanket on warmer nights. However, I would only recommend doing this if you’re staying in low infestation areas or if you’re also sleeping underneath a mosquito net, otherwise you run the risk of getting bitten by mosquitoes and other insects. MEKKAPRO Mosquito Camping Insect Net with Carry Bag, Compact and Lightweight, Fits Sleeping Bags, Bed, Tent (Single) Insulite™ Superfine insulation – a blend of spiralised, siliconised fibres, which combine to produce a highly compressible, extremely durable and lightweight filling. Coghlan’s Circular Mosquito Net is the second product from Coghlan’s that has made it into this list. While the first Coghlan’s net has a cuboid shape when being used and requires multiple hanging points to stay upright, the circular net only needs to be attached to one point above the ground, which is a great advantage in many cases. The Vango Planet 150 Sleeping Bag is another great quality product from a trusted manufacturer with nearly 50 years experience in the camping industry. You won’t be disappointed. We have used these ourselves and found them to be excellent. It’s made specifically for outdoor use , as most tents are, and it’s perfect for warm climates where keeping insects out is one of the top priorities of keeping you safe at night. It also comes with a rain fly that you can easily attach to the inner layer and stay dry in case it starts to rain during the night. Gloryfire Camping Mosquito Net is another popular net in the outdoor category. It’s made of very breathable mesh and therefore suitable for hot and humid climates.

Size - Perhaps the most important feature of a mosquito net is its size. There are two variables to consider: the size of the net when it’s open, and its folded size. The Vango Planet sleeping bag range has proven a hit with our customers over the years, and Vango have certainly upped their game with their 2015 model. Although they’ve kept all the key features from the previous model, the 2015 version comes with two main changes in the form of upgraded anti-microbial and insect repellent treatment and the addition of a mosquito net in the foot area of the bag. With these changes in mind, I thought I’d take a closer look at the new Vango Planet 50 and see if, like it’s predecessor, it would be a sleeping bag I’d want to accompany me on my travels… Design - It’s hard to define the best mosquito nets based on their design. Some people prefer hanging nets which offer ampler protection. Minimalist mountaineers,on the other hand, might appreciate more a pop-up mosquito net that provides protection in all sorts of environments.it was relatively cool compared to using one of those full tents as it allowed slightly more air circulation. Features - Some mosquito nets are just more effective than others. Here are a few features you’ll like: The bottom of it is waterproof as well. It is also really meshy in that there is even less space for mosquitoes or other insects to get through as compared to similar products. Polair® Diamond RS Shell – Diamond ripstop polyester shell; both durable and water resistant while retaining breathability.

It comes with a carrying bag very similar to that of #5 in this list and it’s quite a similar product overall, as well. The Coghlan’s circular net is a bit bigger though, with a circumference of 41 feet and a height of 8 feet, 2 inches. L Runnzer Portable Mosquito Net Tent SIZES - 1-PERSON - Measures about 7. 9’ long x 3. 9’ wide x 3. 3’ tall and weighs about . 5 lbs. 2-PERSON - Measures about 7. 9’ long x 5. 6’ wide x 4. 3’ tall and weighs about 1 lb.

Key Features

With our mosquito net for bed, you can enjoy a cosy night's sleep in your home or on your camping adventures. The sizable net ensures that it fits over most beds comfortably, offering comprehensive protection. The easy-to-install design adds convenience, making it an essential home and travel accessory. For extra protection, you can also consider mosquito repellent and deet spray. Mosquito Net for Travelling VERSATILITY - These pyramid nets were made to fit sleeping bags, but are big enough to do much more; such as tents, beds, cots and picnic areas. Great for outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, fishing, climbing, etc.

Not much has changed for the Planet 50 in terms of comfort features. It comes with the same single layer Insulite Superfine insulation and loose shell design, which makes it particularly well suited to use in hot climates, as it ensures the sleeping bag is breathable. No stitches are made through the sleeping bag’s insulation, which helps to minimise cold spots and keep you warm. The insulation is designed to be compressible, durable and lightweight and is a blend of both siliconised and spiralised fibres. In addition to the Insulite Superfine insulation, the sleeping bag also comes with an insulated zip baffle, which runs along the length of the zip to keep drafts out and help retain body heat. It also comes with a 2-panel 3D hood, which helps to reduce heat loss, as the head is one of the main areas of the body we lose heat from.

Mosquito Net for Bed

I used a travel liner bag but often slept on top of it because it was so hot meaning that the netting was just on top of my legs. Meaning I could probably be bit easily through the netting if anything were to land on me and also any sort of creatures could also just crawl all over me. This also contributed to the difficulty of keeping the netting on my body and it not gapping or being pushed off in my sleep. Insect Protection System (IPS) by Kamp-Rite is not “just” a mosquito met. It’s much more. It’s basically a one-person tent with the inner layer made from ultrafine mesh designed to keep mosquitos and other bugs away.
