About this deal

I would reach for this more often because my lifestyle is not as formal now as it was a few years ago. I love this exotic spicy floral, but it will not go over with the crowd who leans toward marshmallows and pralines. she must go now, off in to the club where the aroma of liquors, smoke, adrenaline, wonder and lived in stale space hug her. If i had to imagine which fragrance Bette Davis wears in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane to better enter into the role I would definitely say this one: Diamonds and Rubies.

Diamonds and Rubies is a fine rose; the perfect rose subdued by rich, warm spices and premium silky powder. The effect it creates along with all the white florals is something that is both soothing, and elegant. I really think this should have gained as much popularity as White Diamonds, more people need to try this perfume. To me, the sweet, nectar-y peach note dominates the blend, with the floral and Oriental notes in the background. Lasts over six hours but close to the skin, yet it still has some life to it and doesn't really become a skinscent, and doesn't wash away completely in the shower if I applied it in the last couple hours.

It's sort of creamier and rosier, thanks to the vanilla I think (it's not a sexy vanilla though, sophisticated yes but not sexy, sorry) plus lily of the valley, the latter note being why it smells more old-fashioned. I think the almond comes off very bitter on my skin and when first sprayed, and that makes the spices somewhat off putting to my nose. This baby puts me in mind of a sweetened Kenzo's Jungle L'Elephant, another sultry, long lasting beauty.I smell like i rubbed powder scented baby oil on me and then dumped unsweetened cocoa powder on top of that. Diamonds and Rubies is a woman's scent, a fragrance of responsibility, a scent of headiness that tells the wearer and the person that gets a whiff that this is a woman who knows exactly who she is-a confident individual who is aware of her self and not afraid to take the World on around her. I will be back in a few months to let you know how it behaves in the winter, since my skin is not particularly fond of retaining scents during the heat even when it's not hot enough to sweat it away. This is the scent that made me understand the peach note, and finally see how utterly gorgeous it can be in a composition. So yes it's quite flowery and if you're used to the different textures of floral fragrances, this one comes off as more powdery sweet floral.

I have to admit I never wanted to try Elizabeth Taylor fragrances because I thought they were going to be to screechy, loud and harsh. The only reason why it's kind of disappointing for me is because I sampled this hoping it would be a rose dominant frag. Other floral fragrances include lily, lilac, orchid, jasmine, heliotrope, ylang-ylang and lily of the valley. But I refuse to let memories ruin a scent for me, and wore this, picking it apart until I saw it's beauty. While I have struggled liking the edt (all I smell is pepper; occasionally I will get some rose, never any peach) the parfum in the tiny little bow bottle is gorgeous.Sparkling White diamonds - this one is very different and I get what people mean now when they say it smells like a “freshly Washed and clean” fragrance.

I was expecting a bit more saturated and rich aroma but somehow I feel only PEACH and no jasmine, no Lilly, no roses as it should be. Weirdly when I asked for it the sales assistant had to get it from under the counter, as if it were some sort of illicit product. Someone mentioned Tresor (which I also love) and I will throw in Spellbound as perfumes that this is similar to.The name "Passion" fits Elizabeth Taylor and is a word that was well chosen to introduce her very first perfume.
