About this deal

BTW, just for additional info, if the plastic bezel part become shiny, you can use pencil eraser to dull them up..

I love the DW290... got a couple of them... i put mine on 22mm nylon from seiko 5 sport.. trim the lug to fit 19 mm.. i fell in love with the ultimate design, ugly but absolutely irresistible, of the dw-290....the watch is on the road to my house, and i was thinking of trying it on nato  There are 4 time zone ‘spaces’ you can preset to any of 48 cities in 31 time zones across the globe.

I was going to try a pencil eraser myself today -- the paint was a little stubborn on ONE of the four painted areas, so I had to rub harder, and now that one spot is a little shinier than the rest of the watch.

There are 2 other color variations. The 1AVCF with gray LCD, silver-gray bezel combo, and the 1BVEF with gray LCD, silver-gray bezel and a red surround panel under the crystal. I like it - although I must admit I never wear it - but many of my watches never get worn and I like them nonetheless :-d: Casio AD-300,AW-61, DW-280, DW-290,MD-309,MD-310 Watch Strap (19mm fitting, 24mm at shoulders) - Watch Band for AD300,AW-61 DW280, DW290G, DW2900GMV, MD-309, MD-310 Watches One of the quibbles I have with the Casio is the plastic strap. When new, it is stiff. Perhaps it will loosen up over time, but after four days on my wrist, it has yet to do so. This makes putting it on and taking it off a bit of a struggle. Another ding against the Casio is the “Adjust” button on the upper left. This button starts and stops the timer and stopwatch, but it is recessed so as to not accidentally activate it. I think it is a bit too hard to press this button. I have to get the right angle with my fingertip. The other buttons have a nice touch and are easy to press. The same thing we have all done after yard work. Just jumping in the shower with the watch on and washing the watch with a washcloth to remove the dirt and sweat. After a few weekends of yard work and showers, I noticed the lettering was gone.I think the watch has a great, startling look to it, and I think I will get one sooner or later for myself. I really like how it is a real bargain, that makes for some lightheaded usage! I put it on the 5600 adapters, works ok. What could be used as spacers on each side of the adapter to keep it from sliding?

Size: 50.5 x 50.4 x 13.5 millimeters (versus 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 for the DW-5600). Those who find the 5600 series too small may prefer this larger size. The larger size of this watch also means larger digits on the display. The watch also has bigger buttons that are operable with gloves. Approximate 10-year battery (versus 2-year battery for the DW-5600): Of course, real world usage may vary, and it’s possible for the DW-5600 battery to last much longer than two years. My Casio DW291H, now 7 months old, showed signs of a failing battery. So much for that ’10 year battery’ claim stated on the watchface in red, on the watch box and in the description everywhere this watch is sold. The countdown timer is a plus for so many things. Casio puts only a stopwatch function in its cheaper watches and that just won’t do when grilling, baking, making tea or needing an alert for any ‘must notice now’ event. Both should be standard features and the 291H has both countdown and stopwatch style timers. Thank you very much d2mac! and also thank a lot mike! after see you try out the nail polish remover from d2mac and succed, i just try my self and it really work! Ah, the DW-290 - a real classic with a cult-like following on the forum :-d. I never wear mine but I also would never sell it :-d. No I did not use spray paint. Honestly, my lettering came off with dust, dirt, sweat, soap and water in the shower after doing yard work (mowing, edging the walk, trimming the shrubs, etc.). When does a tech-guy not use a smartwatch? I had a Pebble (by Julie’s push), an Asus, and now own two Samsung smartwatches – but for me, it’s when I tire of everyday charging and / or being hyper-connected. And when I want guaranteed water resistance (water-proof requires serious proof) and would like to wear one timekeeper 24-7, for days on end.

In conclusion, the Seiko DW290-1V is a valuable tool for the garage. It’s a tough, Craftsman-like tool that does its job without too much fanfare, it looks decent and one can wear it in the shower after a day’s work in the garage. I think it’s an excellent value. If I were to lay it on the ground and accidentally run over it with the LeMans, I would replace it with the exact same watch. alarms can be set to either alert you daily or as one-time alarms that would not trigger again unless you manually turn them on again. The appearance, fit, features and most of the design of the DW291H are great. But I’ve never had to replace the battery of any watch I’ve owned at the 7 month point.
