About this deal

When I was ten, I started putting confession strips into a box in my closet so that if anything happened to me, people would know that I was more than just the quiet girl who followed the rules. The Do-Over” is a fun, sweet, steamy and emotional story that I devoured in just a couple hours because I could not put this story down. I have loved reading about each of the Miles Brothers and Christopher and Hayden won me over and I loved their bond and relationship. The two meet in a hostel in Spain and are instantly smitten. Their journey has some ups and downs and the city boy and farm girl storyline is one we all know. He actually grinned at my expression. “I wasn’t impugning your fashion choices—you look very, um, polo player’s girlfriend, don’t worry. I was merely referring to your bare legs and the fact that it’s, like, twenty degrees outside. Ride? Yes?”

Basic synopsis is that Billy and Jenna were high school sweethearts, had a bit of an oops baby, got married, Billy went pro for baseball, they had another baby and then the pressure of Billy's career got to be too much so they divorced and are now awesome co-parents. (Run on sentence much?) Now the kids are older, Billy's figuring out his career and Jenna is a bit more confident in herself. Billy has the opportunity to play in Japan which means a big change for their family but first he has to prove his family values as his past as Billy "Club" has put a mar on his reputation. Enter Jenna who is all for helping Billy and his career and maybe getting some space from the man who is still "the one" for her. But as the two spend more time together without the kids to up Billy's image, they learn a lot more about the mature versions of themselves and what feelings are still there for both. Enter a bit of drama (I won't spoil this) but things really come to a decision making point for Jenna in what she can handle and what she won't. Yes, that’s me!” I was losing my cool because I had very big plans for the day, and this surly boy was holding me up from making my perfect Valentine’s Day happen. Now, I won't be saying anything more to avoid spoiler but these two are just everything! I love them so much! Their chemistry is totally off the chart and the sexual tension? *chef kiss*. Their connection runs so deep that you can literally feel the love that they have for each other. All their moments really stole my heart. There are some funny moments, sweet ones, and even emotional ones.Oh, come on, you guys.” Lisa came into the kitchen with Logan on one hip, Joel on the other. “Can we please not swear around the babies?” I loved the premise of this book, Christopher is of course sexy as sin, and it really did a great job of showcasing chosen family. However, because it encompassed the course of more than a year and locations around the world, I often felt that the pacing of the book was a little disjointed. At times, while still extremely spicy, the sex almost felt like it was put into the book just to give the reader what they expected of a Miles Brother story, but between the sheets, the main characters had little chemistry. Unfortunately, this was not only due to the unsuccessful realisation of the plot, but mainly due to the horrible and obnoxious protagonist Christopher. I had missed the Miles brothers so much and what a way to end this series! This one is up there with The Takeover as my two favorites. It felt like coming home to these characters and this just read so easily despite being a bit of a longer romance. There were just so many moments that made me smile.

It started off really well! I loved the whole 'Let my rich self live like an ordinary pay cheque to pay cheque citizen' and seeing how aghast he is at how us common folk live. Hayden is still getting over her past relationship and decides to take a break from her life, on the farm with her parents, and see the world. This was such a great story. The characters, the plot, the ups and the downs, everything about it was perfect. I cried happy and sad tears (and I'm not much of a crier). It was the perfect ending to this amazing quartet of books about the Miles brothers. Then there’s Hayden, she and Chris have that whole enemies to lovers vibe going for them until they don’t. And then they fall in love. Which is hot. Christopher is a hot lover. HOT.

It is fully possible that there will never be a hotter literary group of brothers than the Miles brothers by T L Swan. These two have an immediate attraction but Hayden is also put off by Christopher and his arrogance. As fate would have it, they end up sharing a kiss one night that changes everything. They become closer and their friendship starts to blur into something more. Hayden and Christopher’s story felt so organic and natural, I felt like I was spending time with my friends. I did not want this to end. These have legitimate issues to overcome and Sean does that realistically (although I definitely was mad at them for not figuring out the answer earlier lol). I read this in about 4 hours bc it’s that good. Props to TL Swan for dropping in 3 old friends, too ☺️

The guy was kind of an enigma. I’d never seen him around outside of school, and he didn’t really have a clique or friend group that I was aware of. Even though we were juniors, I still didn’t have enough information to figure out how to classify him. With all that being said, there was still a bit that left me feeling kind of “meh”. A lot of moments felt very rushed, the build up for them was great but then they just ended and I felt like I didn’t get closure a few times. There was a few things that could have really added to the plot but since they were just kind of tossed in there they took away from what was ultimately rushed. there were quite a few parts of the book that i really enjoyed and found were really funny and entertaining throughout. such as the Mykonos scenes and the ending. Another thing I really enjoyed about The Do-Over is Emelies confessions. Each chapter was headlined with one and we even got to know a few more during DONC. I honestly would read a whole book with just these confessions. I was currently super into Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours album but I shrugged and said, “I kind of just listen to the radio.”It is a kind of awaking for him, as who is he without his name, wealth and city’s comfort. He get everything he wants without so much lifting a finger, he works hard and lives fast, a social sexual being. In the beginning Hayden and Christophers banter was so much fun, I loved that she kept putting him in his place for being a spoiled brat. Chris’ charm and flirting was so swoon worthy, and I loved how much of a softy he could be at times. But all of that seemed to instantly change after getting together, Hayden became quite the pushover, while the smallest things could send Chris into hulk mode. Although Elliot still owns my heart, (sigh for grumpy secret romantic 😍) Christopher and Hayden’s story was a breath of fresh air from the previous series books’ office setting.
