The SRS-XB13 Bluetooth speaker produces sound with uncannily powerful bass despite its tiny size. The reason behind its solid low range is Sony’s Extra Bass (hence the XB in the name) technology. With its compact design, measuring 68.58 mm in width, depth, and 78.74 mm in height, and weighing 207 g, it is highly portable and can easily be carried around wherever you go. The Anker Soundcore app for Android and iOS lets you update the speaker's firmware and adjust an impressive nine bands of customizable EQ (or select among the preset options). You can argue that this feature is overkill for a single-driver, 6-watt speaker and that you might not even be able to detect a major difference most of the time, but as I discuss in the next section, the customizable EQ can be useful in some cases.The Soundcore Mini 3’s IPX7 rating means that it's fully waterproof, so you can expose it to splashes, rinse it off under a faucet, and even submerge it in up to a meter of water. Bluetooth signals don’t work underwater, but the Soundcore Mini 3 is otherwise an ideal option for outdoor environments and can stand up to wet weather or poolside splashes. While the speaker drivers remain the same, the Qualcomm chipset that powers the speaker has been upgraded (the speaker uses Bluetooth 5.1), bumping the sound quality up a tad, particularly at higher volumes, with better digital signal processing. It remains one of the best-sounding mini Bluetooth speaker models, with richer more tonally balanced sound than other Bluetooth speakers its size -- and it should sound good, considering its elevated price point. This mini Bluetooth speaker by Bose has been around since 2017 — an eternity for an industry this fast-paced. However, the SoundLink Micro is still one of the finest, thanks to a cool and Bose’s signature excellent sound. The bass, treble, and midrange are nicely balanced.
The fabric-covered StormBox Micro has an elegant yet durable design and top-tier sound. Weighing less than 10 ounces, its audio output and bass bely its size. You can pair a duo of speakers in the stereo setup, too. Its rubber strap helps when lashing to to something like a bike.It has a retro design, headlined by a white housing with contrasting color bits and a fabric loop in Polaroid’s signature colors. Its rotating volume button is a nice nod to a time when Polaroid's iconic cameras were must-have gadgets.
