About this deal

Originally Moscato d'Asti hails from Italy's Northwest region of Piedmont, an area that also birthed the famous Barolo wine. Of course, we couldn’t do any of these things without you, our Barefoot fans. Together, we’ve been able to get Barefoot and have a great time leaving our footprint in communities far and wide. We think wine should be all-inclusive.

So, how does Moscato get its fizzy texture? Unlike most wines, Moscato is bottled with a bit of carbon dioxide to produce some of the bubbles. The carbon dioxide helps to ensure not all of the sugar converts to alcohol, giving it the sweet flavour. You may notice that Barefoot Bubbly is labeled as “Champagne,” and you may wonder, “Can they do that, I thought Champagne could only come from France?” Yes, it’s true that the term “Champagne” is legally reserved for wines from the Champagne region of France. But, many US-made sparkling wines were using the term before the decision was made to no longer use it on US-made wines. Those wines labeled as “Champagne” before 2006 were “grandfathered” in to allow them to continue using that descriptor as long as the region of production is also on the label (e.g. California). The sugar converts to alcohol and carbon dioxide during this process, typically leaving dry wine. To keep it sweet, Jen combines cool temperatures, modern technology, and a careful process to ensure that some sugars remain for the semi-sweet Moscato. Voila!

HOW IS MOSCATO WINE MADE?

Just who are Barefooters? They are our voices in local communities and at events, our feet on the street. They are big-hearted advocates making a difference for the causes we love, travelling far and wide to spread the word about Barefoot Wine & Bubbly. The Brut Cuvée is what most people expect when they have champagne or sparkling wine. In fact, most sparkling wine that’s produced is in the Brut style. Technically, Brut refers to the amount of sugar added after secondary fermentation and is an indicator of sweetness. Brut is relatively dry.

When dinner’s afoot and you’re in the mood for a delicious vanilla ice cream or a delectable fruit salad, what wine do you grab? A Barefoot Moscato, of course! Come and join the Barefoot family - with over ten different types of wines and flavours available, we’ve got a tipple to suit all tastes! Our tasty and tempting range of wine covers white, red and pink. Plus, if you’re feeling in the mood for a touch of fizz and sparkle, we’ve got a delicious bubbly too in the shape of our Barefoot Bubbly Pink Moscato.

This is another one that had me really curious… what would Barefoot do with a Sparkling Moscato, I wondered. And then, when I saw that the alcohol level is only 8.5%, I was scared that it was going to be overwhelmingly sweet. But I was pleasantly surprised. As diverse as the wines in our collection, Barefooters all have this in common: they celebrate the fun, cherish the quirky, and love locally. What makes our Barefoot hearts flutter?Expressing GraTOEtudeevery chance we get. Big birthday, special anniversary, new job celebration, a family get together or an evening with friends - there’s always a good time to pop open a bottle of bubbly, isn’t there? (I will need to run this one by compliance) Sometimes, you don’t even need a reason at all! Uncork it carefully, listen to that glorious pop and fizz, pour into flutes, and raise a toast before taking that first, gorgeous sip. Fan-bubbly-tastic! How do you become the world’s most loved wine brand? You start with a belief that wine should never be taken too seriously and a conviction that when you follow your heart there’s no limit to how far your vine will grow.

Contrary to popular belief, pink wines aren’t made from mixing red and white wine together. Most are dry wines made with red wine grapes with limited exposure to the grape skins, so the colour stays somewhat pale. That means that the Muscat Blanc grapes are the reason why pink Moscato has its pink colour. If you’re looking to dip your toe in the pool of sparkling Moscato, then treat yourself to our delicious Bubbly Pink Moscato. With notes of berries, cherries, apples and more, it’s the perfect drink for raising a glass in celebration! There are 3 major Moscato wine types: sparkling Moscato d’asti, still Moscato, and dessert Moscato. Which is the best depends on the pairings and when you’re drinking it. The terms “pink,” blush,” and “rosé” all describe wines that are neither red nor white. Each term is interchangeable, especially for sweet wines such as zinfandel, white merlot, and even pink Moscatos.

WHAT FOODS DO YOU EAT WITH MOSCATO?

We can’t deny it - Moscato Wine is a true crowd-pleaser! At Barefoot, we believe no one should be judged by the colour of their favorite grape. At the end of day, it’s all abouthaving fun & staying quirky. In most cases Moscato wine is a sweeter white wine made from Muscat Blanc grapes. Its light feel and refreshing flavour profile makes Moscato more than just a dessert wine though. They’re refreshing enough to be consumed at during a BBQ or dinner with friends.
