About this deal

Later I learned that it was added to remove the irritation caused by the odor of the chemicals in the glue, with the added benefit that it did supposedly keep abusers from getting any unintended benefit from the glue. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen. I may be wrong but I think you will find that the majority of liquid adhesives mentioned so far have varying degrees of MEK in them. The brush is a little un-precise though, but some practice or an applicator like the touch-n-flow system will make it better. For years, I used ordinary lacquer thinner when working with styrene, but several years ago, they changed the components of it, and while it's still useful as a paint thinner and brush cleaner, it is absolutely useless as a cement for styrene.

Tamiya plastic cement is thicker, I guess it is comparable to other hobby plastic cements like Revell or Citadel in viscosity. On the other hand, you should not be discouraged by the brush alone because a sharp hobby knife can easily trim the brush to make it just as good as the Tamiya’s one. I only use the yellow one when I have to glue big parts, like upper and lower half of a hull, when I like the longer hardening time to make adjustments and such. The very simplicety of the kits is the trap for careless stupid mistake construction so take your time and don't rush. When the CA glue sets, it releases some sort of a white residue that will ruin your clear parts making them foggy. The applicator makes it easy to apply to even the smallest pieces and it dries so quickly you won't be sat there holding two pieces together forever.

You can place the parts together first then just touch the supplied brush onto the join and hey presto, bonds in no time at all. The solvent is strong enough to cut thru grease and oil and finger prints so cleaning the joint is not an issue. If you paint the model before assembly you will need to sand or scrape the paint off the mating surfaces.I use Testors Liquid Cement For Plastic Models mostly because I find the odor the heast objectionable. The extra thin formula allows the modeler to glue together small pieces that require pin point accuracy and finesse. Inevitably there are different products and approaches and what you have here is what I do – just my take although I have to say it stands me in very good stead for all the modelling tasks I have to tackle. Because I had painted the paper I had my doubts about how good the stick was on the peel and stick other side.

Tamiya Extra Thin Cement Quick Set 40ml | Hobbycraft

No, it is a very thin liquid that uses capillary action to flow into the seam/join and it melts the two surfaces. Limonene is essential oil from citrus (orange peel) so, yes some people are sensitive to it (less than 3% with 100% pure limonene contact).

It is a very long time since I built any Roundhouse kits but they are usualy painted, and if you shake the box it will almost fall together. Use great care to get bogie (truck) mounting screws straight or you will end up having to drill an over size hole and sleeve with plastic tubing, or the truck won't sit straight, don't over tighten the screw or bogies won't pivot freely. For windows I use the Testors Clear Parts Cement to hold the clear styrene in place, works very well if you try to apply the right amount.
