About this deal

There are only two physical controls: A volume wheel and a pivoting boom mic that mutes when you put it in the upright position. Fortunately, they're decently comfortable and have a wired connection, so you don't have to worry about them running out of battery. These headphones aren't designed for that purpose, as they don't look very casual and struggle to block out common office noise like ambient chatter. Richard Cheese's cover of "Bullet the Blue Sky" on the A10 maintains that powerful low-end, but shows some sculpting in the higher frequencies to help balance it out.

The mic isn’t removable, but it’s pretty foldable and bendy so you can kind of tuck it right next to the headset. For gaming, they are fine; directional audio is certainly there and sounds of guns and explosions sound great, while footsteps, flashbangs, and all of the other typical in-game noises sound good too, and speech sounds clear. The test recordings sounded clean, and picked up no stray fan sounds from my notebook or its cooler. We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a contract that is caused by events outside our reasonable control or due to our compliance with any applicable laws or regulations. As the outstanding balance, plus the interest now form part of your payable balance they will attract interest at your account rate, meaning you will pay interest on interest. As a simple stereo headset, the A10 doesn't offer any sort of simulated surround sound like the Astro A40 and A50, or the Logitech G433.

Our unit's L/R drivers are also well-matched in amplitude and phase response, creating a stereo image that accurately places sonic objects, like footsteps and gunfire, in the soundstage. On the plus side, they have a detachable audio cable, so if it gets snagged on something, it won't pull the headphones off of your head.

The Astro are much more premium feeling, have a better-balanced sound profile, and provide a more consistent, comfortable fit. When the track properly kicks in, the A10 properly balances the mix's many elements, with the bassline settling just slightly in the back to give the guitar, drums, and vocals plenty of space. The Logitech's boom mic makes your voice sound more natural and does a better job of separating it from background noise. There's a dip in the mid-mid though, so vocals and lead instruments in songs like Lord's Apparition from the Elden Ring soundtrack are pushed to the back of the mix.

The plastic is durable—Astro demonstrated that to me at one point by slamming the headset into the ground. However, the originals have a better overall microphone performance as their mic sits closer to your mouth. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Astro’s always been known for a flashy, bass-heavy sound, and the A10 absolutely incorporates that aspect.

The Astro A10 and the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 are both budget-level wired gaming headphones, so deciding between them will depend on your personal preferences.
