As I mentioned above, this isn’t exactly a horror sci-fi game, but it does have themes of nihilism and inevitable decay. If a character uses a Void point and still fails the roll, they must roll to see if they gain a Void Corruption. Today, we’re taking a look at Death in Space, a game about people trying to survive and turn a profit in a universe that is actively falling apart. I love being able to envision a future where the world is full of wonder and advancements for the betterment of all.

A future where we have created more new problems than we have solved, and our ascent into the stars are like humanity throwing water on a grease fire. Now, if you are going to run a campaign that includes a spaceship, this can also be created after the players are set up.

DEATH IN SPACE is a game about adventure and uncertain journeys out into the darkness of space, where the void whispers to the unlucky and imbues travelers’ bodies with strange powers. In the next steps of character creation, the player fleshes out their character by selecting a Background, Trait, Drive, Look(s), and a Past Allegiance. This also interrupted the craft's attitude, causing the vehicle to accelerate towards the Earth and triggering an emergency reentry sequence.The ship creation system in the Mothership Shipbreaker’s Toolkit is much more detailed than the equivalent in Death in Space, giving ships stats and a deckplan in addition to hull rating and fuel capacity, which both systems have in some form.
