The final patient file belongs to Kierra as the final attack on the island happens with Rocky apparently faking his death and unleashing an acid attack on the pool which scars Noah and looks like it is going to kill Elliot when Kierra jumps in front of him taking the hit and resulting in over 90% over her body being burned. Harper would have had his license revoked ages ago and the plotlines tended more toward ‘horror’ rather than ‘psychology. As soon as I finished it I bought the two sequels on my Kindle, and I liked the anonymous author’s take on the ‘traumatized doctor who doesn’t play by the rules’ trope.

Harper has absolutely no hardware left holding his own mental health together so therefore he should not be trusted. Elliot wants to help James but he doesn’t want to force Noah into a position he isn’t ready for but he seems more than ready to build a life with Elliot after everything they have gone through which was beautiful and we get the see their second “first” kiss again which gave me all the feels. A common complaint I see is that it’s not case files with doodles like he says it is in the beginning at all, its 6 short story told in the 1st person view and I truly believe that is because there was never any doodles, case files, or patients. Harper’s character is more of a flawed hero who’s job description fits more within the realm of a private investigator, detective, investigative journalist or ghost buster.

Back in the present, Elliot goes on his fourth date with Noah and there second “first” kiss is about to happen when Zach interrupts them as there has been a rape on the island.

The first patient file belongs to Sam, who is also in prison with his love Arthur, but they are having issues in their relationship and turn to Elliot for help. As a future therapist, seeing the ethical and moral boundaries be crossed and also not know how I would handle certain situations myself is literary genius. Facebook has discovered that I am a bookworm and is now bombarding me with ads for all sorts of books. The stories blend into each other and so do the characters, it makes for interesting reading and a mind-boggling experience.
