After the idea for Harry Potter came to her on a delayed train journey in 1990, she plotted out and started writing the series of seven books and the first, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone , was published in the UK in 1997. Bringing together two virtuoso artistic talents, as Kate Greenaway Medal winner Jim Kay is joined by acclaimed guest illustrator Neil Packer, winner of the 2021 Bologna Ragazzi Award for non-fiction.Rowling has received many awards and honours for her writing, including for her detective series written under the name Robert Galbraith. After producing a one-man exhibition at Richmond Gallery he was approached by a publisher and his freelance illustration work began.
