Because human players can take a fair bit of punishment (and even when they are defeated, the players can select another character) there is never really any true threat, so tension doesn’t build. Whichever player activates this location may immediately add two cards to their hand from the discard pile. We did get all three locations activated, and several goals were achieved, but no one got to safety.

Jurassic Park: Danger takes place just after Dennis Nedry has shut off all the power, so the game gets right into the action. Damage is easy in Jurassic Park: Danger, there are no rolls/saves/dodges, if you are in the same space as a dinosaur, you get injured and the dinosaur player “burns” one random card from your hand, unless the T-Rex uses their special ability and takes two. If you watched even a small part of our video review, you most likely heard me mention how hard the game is for the human characters to win. They burn the cards by putting them into a burn pile and drawing the number of cards burned from the discard pile.Human players have more choices to make; for example, over whether or not to activate the electric fences which bar movement of both dinosaurs and humans. The game does not really do the film justice as it lacks any way to build the same tension of the movie, so it fails to build a similar atmosphere in your living room. Once this location is activated, all of the human players decide whether they want the electric fences turned back on.

And kids even younger than 10 may enjoy playing Jurassic Park Danger since it’s a semi-cooperative game. If 2 to 3 players are playing then 2 characters must escape, if 4 to 5 players then 3 characters must escape. If a dinosaur enters into a tile with a character in it that isn’t sneaking (more on this later), then the dinosaur attacks (more on this later as well). A player threatens Amity as the big white shark weighing three tons, while other players hunt him playing Brody,Hooper,Quint. Ione really enjoyed how the game has so many characters (almost everyone in the original film is playable) but also felt the game does not always know what to do with them all, making the game feel clunky and awkward at times.Put the board in the middle of the table and then separate the tiles by type: Start, Center, Perimeter. Hopefully that doesn’t divulge an inner evil nature but rather just the fun of being able to control so many different dinosaurs at once. The d6 is just used to determine whether or not certain actions succeed (for example, taking a 'sneak' movement or activating a location).

During this exciting 60-minute game, players will have to decide whether to play Dinosaurs or Human Players. The other players control a team of human characters, working to get the park back online and escape to the helipad before it's too late!Just like Climb, you have to roll the dice and get a number equal to or higher than the number shown on the card. Some of the characters have to travel to different places on the board and roll the dice to obtain a goal token. At any time, if you fail your roll during the Climb or Sneak action, you can try to boost your roll. Everything is done very professionally with this company and always lets you know every step of the process. The challenge of the game for the players playing as the human characters comes in figuring a way to use the actions on the cards to maneuver around the island, activate the locations, achieve their personal goal, and get to the helicopter pad.

The other players control a team of human characters, who work to regain control of the park and escape to the heliport before it's too late! Agreed, but they don’t feel threatening, they feel like just another obstacle in the game and that is dull for both the human and dinosaur players. I’m very sad my idea was “stolen” by the original creator but happy to know I can have good ideas…I’m not sure how to feel tho. In doing so, players just need to pay attention to the cliffs and fences that must be climbed between some sections.

If you love Jurassic Park, it’s a fun little game to add to your collection, but this game is more for novelty than it is for hardcore gaming.
