I bought this for my granddaughters 2nd birthday although I didnt realise until it arrived it said 3yr + ,she absolutely loved it and the knife to cut the fruit was a big hit . I let them string Fruit Loops and Cheerios onto red shoestring licorice, and they spend hours having so much fun. Melissa and Doug are real people, a couple, and parents of 6 children, who for 30 years have been making the most amazing wooden toys, wooden puzzles, wooden play kitchens, wooden animals, wooden fruits and vegetables. I think there are better wooden toys out there that are affordable but don´t seem to be made so poorly. She loves being around the kitchen so I’m sure it won’t be hard to get her interested in the kitchen.The kids were so excited to play with the new toys and it was something different than the usual food toys. My friend owns this set as well and she had the same problem with the velcro not working too well after a while.
