About this deal

Whether you are looking to treat yourself or a loved one to a beautiful bottle of fragrance, you can be sure to find a perfect match with our collection of more than 500 perfumes. But all I can tell is that people often compare this one to Przemysławka eau de cologne from Poland. Soft neroli emerges early on, rounding out the zesty citruses of the opening, and becomes the dominant note.

They both had exquisite taste in just about everything, and this makes me think of wonderful Christmases at their house, and their photos from Tahiti and Molokai. The closest cousin to 4711 is Guerlain's Eau de Cologne Imperiale, composed some seven decades later, and favoured by the French aristocracy. This historic cologne has the most glorious fragrance, and somehow manages to be calming and revitalizing at the same time. using this in your scent dispenser could also be an interesting idea as well as cleaning products in case you make your own at home.

Friendly, approachable, leaves you in a better mood, but doesn't alter your day or emotional/mental trajectory.

If you really had a long journey without a real chance to wash you'd at least retreat to the wash room briefly, splash it on your neck and wipe some around your arms. Keep a bottle in there so after you wash your hands and face or whatever you can splash some on your neck or chest and smell nice.

This short review aims to highlight the timeless appeal and positive experience of using this fragrance based on my family's experience. I remember this scent from my early childhood and my mother wore it and she always had it in her purse. It does smell a bit like some modern cleaners, but only because they have probably tried to capture this pleasant smell in their products.was a household staple in my family -- it was a foregone conclusion that, when my grandparents visited Europe, they would be bringing back little bottles of 4711 as gifts (with the soaps to match). If you were raised in the middle east and ever set foot in a flower distillery, you for sure, know this smell. The performance is almost comical but its SOOOO cheap that you can bathe in this stuff every 15 minutes and not care about the money.

Useless as a scent as many intend it today (super projection, everlasting longevity, possibly choking everyone else in the room), the original 4711 is a wonderful fabric scent, or a superb olfactory comfort when you need to smell something nice, clean and invigorating. Once I saw a picture of it years later and knew the name, I bought a bottle for myself, just to see if it smelled like I remembered. The sun shines through and the streaks of light brighten the sink, cabinet, and odds and ends around the bathroom.

I have the splash bottle - it really shouldn't come with the sprayer at all, as there's no possible way to put on too much. I remember not really thinking much about it but I was always drawn to the bottle as it was a fixture on her bathroom vanity. I disagree with others that you can’t overspray, I’ve sprayed maybe 50 ml of this over an afternoon and in my shirt the jasmine is so strong that smelling it as much as I have for this review has been slightly nauseating. When Tom Ford created Neroli Portofino, he really has to have been inspired by this 4711 classic from circa 1792. Not that it smells medicinal, but is has that bracing, healthful quality you think of when you smell eaux de cologne, embrocation waters and ointments, and digestive/health bitters.
