If you’ve ever stumbled across my Instagram or read this post, you’re bound to have noticed that my hair is mostly brightly coloured. But, with purple, due to it being a red based dye, it fades very, very quickly, as all red dyes and red based dyes do. It was over one and a half years ago when I first tried Colour Freedom (you can read the review here), and I did really like them, it just wasn’t cost-effective with the look that I was trying to achieve at the time. I am only going to leave the dye in on the recommended time on the packet as I do want it to come out in time for school. But in others, it didn’t take as well, but, I’ll explain to why I am so happy with it after I show you the mini journey we went on. I’m using Vermilion Red from Crazy Colour or Direction when my roots are freshly bleached, which tends to come out a tad too orange, so I have to dye it twice to get the look I want. As you can see, some parts are very blue, but most of it is a greeny colour, wile other parts were brown, some were a light, murkey green: it didn’t look bad. They don’t leave that slightly orange tint but at the same time they don’t make my hair super dark either. However, for shorter, damaged hair, or if you want to try something different, I’d say it’s definitely worth spending a little extra for a treatment whilst you dye. Our best-selling non-damaging and semi-permanent hair dye Riot shows up on unbleached hair and looks fiery red on lightened hair! Luckily, my hair is in really good condition to say I haven’t had a hair cut in around 8 months and it’s always being dyed.Now, I’ll give a quick little bullet point review, but I think the before and after pictures will be enough to show the difference it can make.
But we all know: my hair changes colour a lot, and I’ve been purple since March- yes, it’s really been that long. It’s still really bright but it’s a more deeper red now 😍😍 I usually use directions or crazy colours but with bleaching my hair they were a had orangey!
Which is amazing to say the least bit I was expecting it to go lighter quicker and now seek for lighter ends on my hair! This was the colour we dyed over: not freshly dyed, because as we learned from the Mystic Violet review, my hair goes black after first being dyed, which is the same with the Superdrug dye, but this was a few washes afterwards.
