About this deal

J. Woodman, a student of Ancient History and Archaeology, Classics enthusiast and self-proclaimed book-nerd has been in the making since M.

hopes one day to use her platform as an author to engage young people through history, which she believes, is crucial to building a better, brighter future. Tully must convince the world to face the truth and make hard choices about the future of the species.I know that some of it is being driven by their respective pasts that are full of abuse and tragedy, but again, I’ve experienced my fair share of trauma and I don’t think I’ve ever made decisions that are quite as out there as some of the ones they made. I loved the use of mythology throughout the story, and if you are a fan of Greek/Roman mythology, I recommend reading this book.

I didn’t understand this at all, because as Christians, we believe that love is from God, so if two people love each other, wouldn’t God want them to be together and happy? I know Fake-Rue/Prim gives her a plant or something but I fail to see how that’s going to fix her obviously broken face? There’s also reference to her cutting off said tattoo at some point, with little explanation of that or any repercussions.

She spends her time reading, studying, writing, and developing new projects inspired by the enigmatic and mythical world of history. Her talent for deception is the only thing keeping her alive, for now, but if Electa is anything, it’s defiant, and she will defy the path fate has laid before her and the will of men who try to control her until her last breath. In Divine Might, Natalie Haynes, the bestselling author of Stone Blind and Pandora's Jar, introduces us to the stories of the Greek goddesses.

It suffers from flat characters, a completely unlikeable, contradictory, “not like other girls” (an actual quote from Electa around the 90 page mark) protagonist, and a plot that appears to be nearly entirely ripped off from The Hunger Games, Divergent and Red Queen. It just made me feel like throwing it against the wall and also left me with a two-day depression that I had to dig myself out of. This is an excellent book to share with women in abusive and abusing situations in which they feel there is no hope or no way out. It's If you have been abused or know of anyone going through abuse this story would be a great read for you!
