Critics were a little split on it when it was released, but based upon the strength of the cast and the premise, it did quite well at the box office. Of course, being a heavily-stylized and relatively dark film, the video falls on the softer side of things and will not immediately compare with other releases fro The film's themes of karma and atonement get a slight focus here and there, but it still feels like an area that can be developed further. They consistently discuss the film while watching it together, with Reesman primarily providing real-life factoids about filming locations and the cast and crew, while Evry focuses a little more on the cinematography and the content of the film.

opinions, and I'm probably not quite the fan of Flatliners that Marty is, but I'm scoring the film the same as he did. Billy Baldwin the stereotypical womaniser who thinks he can seduce every woman he meets while keeping his fiancé across the country in the dark, and Kevin Bacon who is the stand out in the ensemble as he not only is the key to bringing people back but he's quick to realise the deadly force they've all unleashed.
