This book is not only a retelling of the Jack the Ripper crimes, but it is also a tour guide to Victorian London, it has social commentary on the rights of women and the rigid thinking associated with the Victorians. I'm sure I'll get tons of shit for this, especially because Moore famously hates all adaptations of his work, but just go watch the movie lmao. That in itself is all well and good and even realistic (except for the fact that the Queen probably would have had a different way of dealing with something like this), but all the Masonic bits, the visions of the future etc were too trippy for me.
