About this deal

It is hard to think of any significant area of social life that has never been the subject of a sociological study. It is more useful to define sociology in terms of its approach or approaches to explaining social life rather than its subject matter. Martin Holborn is an experienced teacher and examiner of A Level, Access and degree-level Sociology, and the author of numerous social science books including co-authoring the last six editions of Sociology: Themes and Perspectives, which has been a bestseller internationally for many years. I used this book in university and it has never let me down, nor does it do so now, when meaning in chaos in the 21st century, is deperately needed.

I am a student social worker and I am finding this book very helpful as it is clearly written, up-to-date and explains theories and concepts in straightforward language. Finally, there are some topics which I feel could have been included that were absent, cities/urban studies and organisational sociology. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged.
