I am a huge fan of Christie’s Love Heart Lane series and I think this might be my favourite book in the series so far. I loved catching up with all my friends from the previous books, but especially Felicity and Isla, who knew Grace from when they were growing up. I became so wrapped up in the story that I lost all track of time and just how quickly I was getting through the book. The story is about Grace Power and her journey from being with an abusive partner, to living in an inherited castle with her three sons, and living a better life. This realism gives a depth to this novel not always found in light “women’s fiction” reads and I certainly downloaded a boxed set of the first three novels in the series before I’d even finished reading it!

There are family secrets to be uncovered, friendships be renewed and maybe, a possibility of romance could be on the horizon too. What I absolutely love about the authors books is her attention to her characters, they are a joy to read about. Andrew Glossop is an equally great character, someone from an incredibly privileged background but with a less than ideal family life, proving that money isn’t always everything.

Heartcross Castle is out now in ebook and audiobook formats, and will be available in paperback in March.

Well it’s been quite a while since I’ve shown my blog some love, despite my best intentions life has somehow swept me away and it’s been months rather than weeks! All the characters are a delight to read about and the small town sounds idyllic combined with the rolling countryside and local beach. She was brought up by her grandfather Marley following the death of her mother and as she grows into her teen years, clashes with him which in turn sees her leaving home and Scotland. It is the community that will give her the support and rekindle the lost friendships because this is what this community does best.

It sort of sets the tone of his characters and shows how out of touch with the real world and everyday life he really is. As she travels to Heartcross we get to find out more about her past as well as see what her friendships are like through her childhood best friends Felicity, Allie and Isla. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. This is book 7 however you would not know this when reading and this book makes a great stand alone book, Something I think this author has got down to a fine art. Book 7 (Love Heart Lane) Increase quantity for Heartcross Castle: The most heartwarming and feel good romance set in the Highlands – the perfect Scottish escape!This is book 7 and it keeps getting better and better, I do think this one may be my favourite so far. With celebrity chef Andrew Glossop living next door and clearly with his eyes on the castle, Grace will need to decide whether to work to retain the legacy of the Grandfather or take the money and secure her future. Although their are some emotional subjects included in this book such as financial issues, physical and emotional abuse, trauma mutism, surrogacy and miscarriages amongst other things. Themes about domestic violence and being somewhat pampered versus the real world gave it a lot more depth, for sure! If you haven’t already had the pleasure of reading any of this series I can’t recommend them enough.
