When KEEN Ranger PT detects an animal, it starts recording and saves the captured videos to the micro SD card (up to 128 GB). In our experience, the trigger speeds can vary depending on the size of the animal, and are slower than many high-end trail cameras - though still fast enough to detect reliably. Our recommendation is an EE data plan SIM, which are free to acquire - see here - you would need to activate and top the SIM up to begin using it. The camera has a 15fps frame rate (typical of wireless/4G cameras) which can make for slightly choppy motion compared with footage from similar non-wireless trail cameras.

The real time video, ability to pan/tilt, way bigger detection zone, way wider FOV, etc make them much more desirable for security to me. External PIR sensor is sensitive to human or objects radiating infrared energy instead of moving leaves or trees. The resolution of the livefeed does vary depending on the quality of the connection - a stronger signal means better quality.The camera starts recording as soon as possible for you to better observe elusive or fast-running animals from videos.

With the app, you can customize the map by adding markers where an animal appears and where you install the camera or set up a feeding. Now you can customise your map on the App by adding markers on places where a deer appears and where you install the trail camera or put a feeder, so you can always know where to find them again. These LEDs are great for minimising detection of the camera by humans - for many animals though they can still see this light and so you may see them react to the camera.
