I can see from the specs that the 807 has the 6th generation P5 processing engine whereas I assume the 856 has the 5th gen, and the newer model has more streaming apps which I don’t need in any case, the newer remote is Android 11 vs 10, and possibly some other things which I might not need, or don’t know I might need. Of course, like all OLED TVs on this list, it delivers fantastic picture quality, with deep, inky blacks and no distracting haloing or blooming around bright areas in otherwise dark scenes. The thrillingly realistic picture on this gorgeous OLED TV combines with immersive 4 sided Ambilight to create cinema-sized excitement. The TV also doesn't lose color vibrancy and brightness when in Game Mode; if anything, it's a tad over-brightened in that mode, but in turn, your games pop.

Whilst the 807 appears to receive good reviews as a new model, I’m wondering how it compares with last year’s 856. While this list is relevant regardless of your region, a few popular models from Panasonic and Philips aren't available in the US, so we haven't tested them.

I’ll be replacing a 5 year old Philips 55PUS6272, and reason for purchasing is to enjoy oled blacks and contrast, and the 4 sided ambilight. The TV has all the features of the more expensive LG C3 OLED, but the B3 is dimmer and has only two HDMI 2. Due to availability issues, we replaced the LG C2 OLED with the newer LG C3 OLED as the 'Best Mid-Range OLED TV'.
