These have featured in most of the other new NINJAGO sets and are also dotted around the Crystal King’s temple set. Available in the free LEGO Building Instructions app for use on smartphones and tablets, the zoom and rotate tools help kids visualize the model as they build. Despite that, it does have a few fun sections, the dragon heads are great and I like that they aren’t just copied and pasted for each one. The wings have some interesting Technic construction, with a knob that uses both a Ninjago spinner crown and another straw hat as decoration.

The connection points for the dragon’s wings are held securely in place with slotted Technic beams and long pins.As I was building the set, the tail felt really loose, so make sure you’ve firmly clipped each join together. The thick plating of gold armor is offset by just a touch of white in the chest, feet, and wings, with small pops of color from the four elementally-themed heads.
