About this deal

If you are a golfer like me who loves to practice daily and prefers not to take unnecessary trips to the driving range, the Birdie Ball is a must have. Most importantly, Birdie Balls also provide tremendous feedback on my swing and ball striking, which has led to rapid on course improvement as the prime summer golf months approach. I received a 4' x 14' mat with the medium speed, which is about a 10-11 on the stimpmeter, or similar to the speed of a private golf course.

I got one in a gift bag at a tournament, and probably took about a year before I finally got around to trying it out lol. My half dozen backyard Birdie Balls are mostly un-phased and unharmed by landing on asphalt driveways, slamming into wooden fences, or even unforgiving gnawing upon by an 80 pound lab/boxer mix. Also, the advertising is absolutely accurate: Birdie Balls will, in fact, fade, draw, slice, or hook, even when you wish they wouldn’t.

Shipped Securely: The BirdieBall was sent in an oversized box with plenty of tape to hold everything in place. Over the next two years she battled through chemo appointments, tests, nurse visits and hospital appointments while still managing to give advice and time to all who mattered to her.

When you make solid contact they feel pretty much like hitting a golf ball and they make a very cool buzzing sound when they fly. I highly recommend checking this product out if you were like me, and looking for a more realistic indoor putting experience. Plus, my home course doesn’t have a range, so I’m finding that they’re a great tool to warm up with before hitting the first tee without endangering anyone. Because they are hollow in the middle you can just stack them up down the shaft of your club in stead of trying to carry all of them. When they arrived, which took far longer than it should have, I immediately took them outside for a few test hits in my yard. I purposely came in steep several times to see how the turf would withstand someone who takes big divots and it held up to the abuse. The Birdieball jumps off the clubface with a very similar ball speed to a golf ball but it’s also trying to stop the second you hit it.

I’ve had a package of BirdieBall for a number of years as it was given to us within a grab-bag at a golf tournament. Meaning, we’ll give it a chance but we go into it with the right mindset and know that there is no “miracle” fix to playing better golf.Plus, they travel about 1/3 the length of a BirdieBall, which makes it less convenient when you’re hitting and having to hunt them down. They will hook, draw, slice or fade on demand, and work perfectly with all sorts of short game shots too. So for those looking for a fun training tool and something to do at the park during a picnic/bbq, this is totally recommended. But after writing about a new training aid from BirdieBall, I learned about their putting greens as well. What makes them so unique is that despite how short they travel, they still act like a real golf ball.
