I've given a 3 star as I do love Disney and I love animation, but it just lacked that special Disney essence, again probably because it's really a TV movie as opposed to a big release cinema production. Adults would do well to watch the disc's behind-the-scenes featurette, "Klay's Flight Plan", and only then giving Planes a go. For instance, Alvin and the Chipmunks contributors Chris Classic and Alana D provide their answer to Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind" in a cringeworthy rap accompanying a New York City fly-over (complete with a vehicular Statue of Liberty).
