Each Hero is unique, with their own distinct personalities and equipment, and the Heroes are arranged into teams. The Winter releases were 44000 Furno XL, 44004 Bulk, 44002 Rocka, 44006 Breez, 44003 Scarox, 44001 Pyrox, 44005 Bruizer, and 44007 Ogrum, with 44008 Surge, 44010 Stormer, 44012 Evo, and 44014 Jet Rocka, 44009 Dragon Bolt, 44011 Frost Beast, and 44013 Aquagon being released in the summer. Von Nebula is an evil mastermind who mastered the manipulation of black holes through a technological staff he developed. Witch abuses the beast and controls his mind with his Skull Staff and the corrupted Quaza spike implanted onto the Raw-Jaw's back.

After the Heroes beat the villains, XPlode fires his explosives at the Heroes, but they managed to survive his attack. Quadal is able to easily make use of technology, and is also talented in the field of numeric sequencing. To defeat these notorious villains, the heroes must be redesigned and re-equipped with special new weapons and gadgets. Like the previous wave, the plastic bags were retained, with two large sets (Stormer XL and Speeda Demon) released in boxes.

A gang of space villains, led by the evil Von Nebula, are some of the most feared beings in the galaxy, and are the main antagonists of the story for 2010. Although he has dealt with this fear directly over the course of his Hero career, Surge still deals with the insecurity, and often throws himself into action to compensate. After a fight with Stormer and Furno he is defeated, and they trap him inside his own black hole staff, placing it inside prison storage to keep it under watch. When Rocka is reported missing, the Alpha 1 Team is equipped with animal-based equipment and sent to find him. However, Black Phantom, who already has the mission managers neutralized, puts up Hero Factory's fail-safe shield, blocking all communications between the building and Heroes on missions and preventing anyone from leaving or entering. But there are savage beasts that attack them, Waspix, Fangz, Scorpio, and Raw-Jaw, who are controlled by the Witch Doctor.Stormer is disinterested in popularity and believes that he should not receive praise for simply doing his job. Witch Doctor finds the Heroes and traps Bulk and Rocka in a box that he used to carry the Quaza stones.

After getting their upgrades, Furno sends Evo into the service canals to combat a wave of Aquagon, sets Surge to guard the Factory (much to Surge’s annoyance), and sends everyone else into the streets. She cares deeply for innocent lives everywhere, but frequently insists that she has no romantic interest in any of her teammates, and that their job as Heroes is what is most important to her. Overall, the Hero Factory toys are most suitable for kids who enjoy the playing experience more so than the actual building process.These robotic heroes are fitted with solid fiber-carbide plating, Quaza cores and equipped with helmets and equipment to fight evil with guts and gadgets.
