Bottled at 40% ABV, which results in an incredibly smooth drinking experience that offers an accessible, rewarding and engaging dram. Once the quality has been approved, the malt and grain new make spirit is ready to be filled into a variety of specially selected oak casks for the long period of maturation in cool, dark warehouses. Eventually, all of the selected whiskies are brought together, pumped into vats, and then back into casks where they will rest for a further period of up to six to eight months. The distillery's machinery and buildings were owned by different individuals and a dispute between the two led to its closure for over fifty years in 1913.

Crafted in exceptionally tall stills and matured for 10 years in America White Oak ex bourbon barrels. I've used Eton Vintners for many years and have always found the staff unfailingly helpful and wise.It is warm in colour with aromas of fruit, cracked pepper and dark chocolate and flavours of nectarines, ginger and freshly ground coffee. A touch of peat brings a rich and rounded balance of subtle smoky notes with a sweet sherry cask finish. The still-man raises the temperature within the wash still and gradually, the fermented liquid is heated and the alcohol in the wash vaporises.

Jura distillery is a seeming cat of a distillery, founded in 1810 and possessed of nine lives, or at least a timeline of eight owners. The cereals can then be combined with a proportion of malted barley in the mash tun and mixed with boiling water to produce the sugary liquid known as wort. A smoky and unpeated whisky that is matured in bourbon casks and finished in sherry, this single malt is well-balanced and presents fruity, dark chocolate notes.

The art of blending is to produce a blended Scotch whisky, which is different from others, a little more subtle, a little more complex than the individual whiskies which have gone into the blend.
