Most would consider either the 8880 or the 8448 the pinnacle of Technic cars, so how does the new one compare? One last thing I wanted to mention is that I firmly believe that this model exists due to comments at this (and other) forums from AFOLs. To be perfect, it definitely needs RC, a new rear end and a new spoiler mechanism… All in all it’s still a great set and it’s a lot of fun to play with it. The other two functions on the transmission are reserved for the doors, which is also my very favorite function. This retinue of studless pieces is found in several unnumbered bags sprawled inside a rather empty box.

The quality of the finished product is excellent as he can use it for playing without it falling to pieces like the regular Lego. Because of the battery box and spoiler mechanism, the rear of the vehicle is replete with poor color choice and worse gaps. Built in LEGO’s customary minimalist style, the car has the profile of a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, the front looks like a fusion of a Camaro and a Mustang, and most of the curves are pretty well executed.The only problem (as we had with the jet fighter) is that he does'nt want to break it down to build the alternate car.

We've been saying for years that it has been too long since the last Supercar, and we've opined at length concerning what we'd like to see in a new one. As per the usual, no B-model instructions are to be found inside the box; they’re found exclusively online *sigh*. The Gallardo has all wheel drive and steering, but really no other mechanical functions so the supercar is much more complicated. But LEGO went the extra mile and developed a part many have been asking for which bumps up the realism of the driveline to a new level. The solitary M-motor in the set drives the transmission by way of a clutch gear so that you don’t break anything. As I've said before, the styling of this car with it's enormous hood make it look like a Dodge Viper to me, though it should be a V-10 then. The seats are made from more than just 3 x 5 L beams, the transmission lever is in the right place, and there’s even a little dashboard. The build process is fairly engaging yet still pretty simple as compared to more recent Technic sets. There are a lot of complex angles happening here, and most of them are NOT accomplished with angle connectors but rather pinned liftarms. Use the built-in Power Functions to open the scissor doors, extend the rear spoiler and pop the hood to reveal the V8 engine.Use it as a guide to the contents of the set, or to find out part numbers when requesting replacements. They mention that it's an amazing grown up game puzzle that keeps them occupied in their spare time.
