About this deal

As they get to know each other through text, in real life they start to realize the other isn’t as bad as they remembered from their younger years. Kayne gravitates toward stories with humor, swoon-worthy love interests, and memorable furry sidekicks, although really, if there's a happy ever after, she's here for it!

Wrong Number is fun, entertaining, fast paced, and dramatic romcom with all right tropes but annoying main character. I adored the banter in this book, how Colin learnt to really look at and began to understand Olivia as well as the way their relationship progressed and developed. His heart is at right place but even with his good intentions, I didn’t like him for ghosting Olivia when he figured she is Miss Misdial. It was already woe-is-me music, but when she started crooning about a fire starting in her heart, it made me think about the fire that started on my deck, and I totally lost it. She gets a new apartment, a new haircut, and a new wardrobe, but when she logs into the dating app that she has determined will find her new love, she sees none other than Jack, the guy whose room she’d snuck out of. I loved the ease they had between them even when they tried to fight their chemistry and pretend they still hated each other. Rather than move back home, she bunks with her brother who happens to be staying in the apartment of his best friend, Colin. But when a steamy text from a random number turns into the most entertaining relationship of her life, it seems things are looking up.

He was wearing his I’m-better-than-you smirk and dickish good looks while I traversed the apartment in underpants and a too-small shirt like some sort of Winnie-the-Pooh variety of dipshit.I respect Colin more for thinking about Jack first as soon as he discovered who is Miss Misdial, Jack’s little sister. His damp T-shirt hugged his Ÿber-defined everything, and some kind of tattoo snaked down his right arm.

She cleverly subverts the trope of the clumsy heroine and, though the banter is charming and funny, the characters bond in a deeper way as well. Painter's characters sparkle with personality: Colin is irresistable, Olivia is utterly adorable, and it's easy to see why they fall in love with each other because the reader does too right from the start.

latest tackles the difficult subject of domestic violence with romantic tenderness and emotional heft. I also felt badly for Liv – her mother is endlessly critical about Liv’s life choices despite the fact that Liv is just twenty-five and trying to figure out who she wants to be. You’re just this…this…human tornado who is so alive so filled with the energy of the moment, that there occasionally is a little collateral damage…But all the damages are worth it.

All of her character flaws made us feel less alone to some extent, so I truly appreciated a protagonist like her. The majority of the books reviewed at this site have been provided for free by publishers, authors, or other third parties like NetGalley or Edelweiss. It is also important to note that the steamy scenes were more of a fade-to-black, and while I didn’t necessarily mind this choice, it is something to be aware of going into the book. My second eye finally opened and I sat up, my entire forehead clenched in a massive ache as the music came to an abrupt halt.I didn’t completely understand the lying, I mean you know it’s going to go wrong, but she grew a lot in this book. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter is a sassy, saucy, and stimulating read for whenever you feel like experiencing butterflies. I work with the publisher frequently (not on this book), but this in no way alters my review and I remain impartial. Biography: Lynn Painter lives with her husband and pack of wild children in Nebraska, where she is a weekly contributor to the Omaha World-Herald and an avid fan of napping.
